I haven't been able to stand watching in such a long time. I don't know anyone who likes the Sonny character or his portrayal as some kind of saint. It kind of squicks me out that he's so popular; he treats women like shit, and most soap viewers are women, so what does that say about his fans?

Also, most soaps have the heros and villains cycle through a lot of stuff. They're not on top all the time, because that's just not very interesting. Sonny needs to get addicted to drugs, end up in prison for a while, die for a while or something because all he ever does is spout the crap all the time. He just impregnates someone new every couple years and it's so fucking boring.

This should probably go in the characters I hate thread, but I despise Sonny Corinthos. I used to love this soap, but the tiny mobster's screentime hogging and the "he's the bestest guy in the whole wide world, he's truly right and the cops are evil" attitude just ruined he show for me. I haven't watched it in a while, it still sounds too bad. Hey, are they still treating the women like crap?

Yea, I first started watching General Hospitol when I was 4, with my babysitter, I saw the Luke and Laura's wedding in third grade and caught it when I could as an adult, up until a couple of years ago when it became the Sonny C show. I thought I'd give it another chance now that I have the Soap Channel, but it is even crappier than it was a couple of years ago. 90% of ever scene. He is either in the scene people are reacting to his actions/presence. It's such a waste.

And did all of the older actress' go to the same f-ed up plastic surgeon? There is some seriously bad face lifts going on in that show. Carly's mom (Luke's sister, can't remember her name.) Looks like a freakshow. She needs to lay off the botox, gain 10 pounds and sue the doctor who lifted her face so freakishly high.

Ahh, Bobbie. Remember she used to be married to Tony who had an affair with Carly? Because apparently everyone forgot this when Jill Fire'em Phelps took over the show.

AS for me, I used to L-O-V-E Sonny. Before Mo left for the first time. But then he came back and was on ever f-ing day. Then he and Carly had hate-sex and somehow became a "SuperCouple". Which bugged to no end. Because for some reason I always loved Carly. Shoot, I used to get in flame-wars on usenet about her. And I felt like she was starting to get a revival when they paired her with (sigh) Lorenzo. Who is bad, and they show he has a bad side. Not like the propping they do with Sonny and Jason.

Honestly, I can't wait until this show is free of Mini-Mo, Jesus-Jason, and Phelps. I find it funny because I was reading an article a few weeks ago, and basically they said that if Mo doesn't like this recast of Carly, she's gone. And that bothers me to no end. Because this was the soap that in high school I would run home and watch no matter what else was going on.

Wow, that's a pretty good rant and honestly, I haven't even gotten started yet. (See Luke, Lucky, Alan, Monica, AJ, Courtney, Liz, Ric, and Alexis just to name a few.)

I still think Sonny should be spun off to his own show ("The Misogynistic Mumbler") where his fans can watch him smash barware and verbally and emotionally abuse women to their hearts content, while the rest of us can watch characters interact in situations that are 100% Sonny free.

I've watched All My Children and One Life to Live for years, but I have always HATED General Hospital, and I can't stand Sonny either. I hate seeing all that mob violence shit romanticized the way it is on this soap. And all the disputes within the Quatermaine family got old fast.

Isn't it ABC's top rated Daytime Drama, though? It was the last time I checked. I can't believe that.

I am so sick of AJ. As much as I like BW I could just wring his neck myself. I stopped being a fan of Sonny's a long time ago. I never cared for the whole meat locker bit (or what Carly did either) And if AJ was to go after revenge on Sonny or Carly I guess I could understand that. But this crap he's doing now? He's destroying his son in the process. I am just sickened by what he's doing to that kid. How on earth can he justify that to himself? And I really don't get the fans who love what he's doing. To read TwoP you'd think that AJ was a hero I'm just flabbergasted. Hating Sonny does not automatically make AJ the hero. What he's doing to his son is sick. Michael will be scarred for life.

Today I left the TV tuned in to ABC after One Life to Live while I went to the bathroom. While on the toitty, I could hear "The role of Carly Corinthos will now be played by..." So what does everyone think of the new Carly?
