I feel like I am in a time warp. I flip on Days last night and there is Patch and Kayla! Patch and Kayla! Robert's back on GH, Anna is coming, and now Luke and Laura! I hated that they split them up and how they did it. Now, if they can get Liz Taylor back, I might actually watch soaps again!

I stopped watching a few weeks ago, because I couldn't stand any more of the writers' inexplicable Carly worship...or Maurice Bernard's...unexplained....pauses that he passes....off...as acting.

Now that Finola is coming back again and with Genie returning, I'm going to have to watch again. I swear, if Anna and Laura only serve to talk about how great Carly and/or Sonny are, too--I'm going to throw something at my TV.

borokat--The return of Steve/Kayla and Jack's latest return from the dead have sucked me back into Days, too. I've gone from being completely soap-free to taping two damned shows again.

Stupid crack soaps, playing on my nostalgia!!!

I think Maurice Bernard's attempts at serious acting are comedy gold. I especially get a good laugh when he goes off on someone or limps around and acts like he is in physical pain when he's supposed to have a mental illness.

You would think he would do a better at job about portraying being bipolar. Since its something he's actually gone through. Its just gives you an headache trying to watch him act.

I'm pretty excited about Genie Francis returning. She and Tony Geary hooked me on GH in the first place and IMO no other soap couple can top Luke and Laura. Luke had a scene with the Pumpkinhead Laura on Wednesday that just took my breath away. Just imagine how much more compelling it'll be when they're interacting again. *sigh*
I just hope the assholes in charge don't ruin her return. For example, if she says one positive thing about Carly I'm going to shoot my TV in. Laura despised Carly. Also, if they pull the same crap with Laura that they've done with Robert and Holly (mindless filler hijinks instead of stories with depth) I'm going to stage a bloody revolt.
It's appalling the way GH has treated the returning vets. They're used for filler while the Sonny - Jason - Carly - Sam stories get all the screentime. Ugh.

The Cassidine baby story might be a build up to a Spencer/Cassidine showdown when Genie Francis comes back, hopefully with some Cassadine characters to play the bad guys and take over the old mob storyline, putting Jason-Sam-Carly-Sonny on the backburner.

I don't follow the soaps behind the scenes and ratings, etc., so can anyone tell me if Carly, Jason, and Sonny are actually popular with the audience. It seems like they must be to be front and center so much.

I saw a commercial for one of those soap opera magazines that said Brenda is returning. I know Vanessa Marcil is currently on Las Vegas. Did anyone else hear anything about this?

I wonder about this, too. I lurk on the GH board at TWoP and everyone there despises the Sonny/Carly takeover of the show.

I think the soap mags (from what I see while waiting in the checkout line) seem to feature a "Brenda's Returning!" fakeout every few weeks. I pray she's not coming back now because (a) Jax is gone, (b) I can't stand to see her comforting Sonny re: his bipolar disorder, and (c) the writing sucks so badly now, I'm sure they'd convert her into a Carly-worshipper, too.

Even with Finola back, I've had to stop taping. I can't stand the Sonny-Carly-Jason Triumvirate of Crap. The writers have ruined the potentially awesome Patrick/Robin pairing. Lulu (who adores Nikolas and should therefore despise Carly for keeping his son from him) has turned into yet another Carly sycophant and wannabe. Sam is apparently parading around in a nightie in front of Ric and dope addict Lucky is kissing Maxie. This show needs a new writing team STAT.

Awwww, I liked Lucky and Maxie way back when Robyn Richards was playing her and thought they could have made a sweet couple someday. The actors are completely different now and isn't he married to Liz?

Ingo signed for another year on GH. Since I haven't seriously watched the show in years, I have no idea what it means for the story. Vanessa is still on Las Vegas, so unless she's doing another one-day cameo, the "Brenda Returns" stuff is just the soap mags looking for a sales boost.
