I was surprised there's no thread for this show. I know some of you out there watch it.
I was hoping to find out more about the family featured last week. The mom seemed really out of it, and I couldn't figure out why she even agreed to do this. She certainly wasn't putting much effort into being a better mom, so I thought there might be some ulterior motive.

I think Supernanny is great - It can be a real laugh. Some of the brats are enough to make you not want to have kids though, mostly you can see it is the parents fault though. Too wrapped up in their careers etc.

I have been (jokingly) calling my husband and my cat "buttpie" for weeks now. I can't stop saying it! It is my favorite new insult.
I agree, giamaria, something seemed off with last week's mom, and dad wasn't much better, but at least when he was there is seemed more engaged and involved with the kids. I think Jo pretty much hated the whole lot of them. Normally she starts her talk with the parents with a whole string of compliments about their kids and how great they are, but this time she just said, "You have lovely kids and a lovely home" and then went right into her shape up or ship out speech.

Was the woman last week the blond lady with the monster sons that made me want to go back on the Pill immediately if not sooner?
Those kids were absolutely horrible even though it's really the parents that are to blame. It seemed to me that the Dad was trying but the Mom would never really back him up. She would say she felt sorry for a kid throwing a tantrum. Huh? And the idea of playing with her kids seemed like the theory of relativity to her.

We had that episode on here last night here in Australia. Those boys were just ferral. I mean spitting and swearing at your mother is just "unacceptable!". Think that show has put me off of having kids for life now.

I don't particularly like children and have never wanted any, but really, it's not the fault of the kids on this show -- it's all on the parents. The kids start behaving pretty quickly once they've got some basic rules and structure. It's the parents who are real nightmares.

I caught the one with the lackadaisical father and the mother who did nothing but whine that she shouldn't punish/reprimand her kids because she didn't want to be a " mean mom."
But most of this stuff makes my fallopian tubes turn and start eating themselves.

I hate how she pronounces 'unacceptable' as 'unasseptable'. You'd think looking after small children she'd talk properly.
Other than that, this show is totally my guilty pleasure, and I have zero plans to have children.

I love Supernanny. Jo has more personality than the Nanny 911 woman. And I love her purple suit and executive glasses. I actually picked up child-rearing tips there.
It cracks me up how all these couples have these big, presumably expensive suburban houses that are decorated blandly or not decorated at all, just furniture stuck in a big white space. You never see any evidence of hobbies, or books or bookcases -- do they even read?

I love it. We've taken to saying it that way around our house now. ;D
