I'm counting the days until the Season premiere of Six Feet Under next Monday. However, it's somewhat bittertsweet for me. While I'm thrilled about the new season, I'm sad that it'll also be the last. It'll be the one show on premium cable with gay characters that I'll actually miss when it's gone, unlike *another* gay-themed, premium-cable show I know (cough: QaF (U.S.):cough). As shitty as David was to Keith for most of last season, I'm just hoping that he'll finally tell Keith that he loves him, but I'm pessimistic.
Talk about all things Six feet Under related here. Even the lime green hearse.

I'm glad last season wasn't the last one because I was disappointed. Can I have a recap of what happened with David and Keith last season? I forgot

I'm glad last season wasn't the last one because I was disappointed. Can I have a recap of what happened with David and Keith last season? I forgot I don't think that Keith was all that rotten to David last season. After David's kidnapping, remember that horror, Keith really tried to be there for David. Keith’s new job as a Security Guard to the "Stah's" kept him out of town though and he had to go on tour, with (the little sister from Buffy) who played a pop tart. Anyhow, if I remember correctly, David cheated on Keith with a guy they had a threesome with, after David had said they should be monogamous, then Keith had sex with the tartlet, lost his spot as her bodyguard, and told David that he'd had sex with a woman. David was his usual wishy washy passive aggressive self throughout the season, but it seemed that Keith really made an effort to control his temper and be more understanding. I hope that they can pull it together by the end of the series because they are one of the most fleshed out couples, gay or straight, on TV today. As much as I love the series, I'm pretty happy that they are ending it this season. The writers strayed from having each episode rotate around the weekly death and it weakened the show. I'm also not that fond of any of the main characters anymore and hope that they can pull it together enough to go out with some dignity.

Didn't they (Keith/David) adopt a baby? Or are close to adopting?
I know there was a Chinese baby dream sequence, but I feel like there was actual adoption (or the beginnings of) as well.
Last year was the first season of 6FU I had watched in full -- I thought the finale was a little ludicrous (sp? damn you, rapper!) - Hoyt!? I really liked James Cromwell's slow decent into madness* -- there was something "off" about him from the start and I'm glad it came to fruition. And not in a "he killed all his ex-wives" way.
It's a great show, but it's probably a good thing that it's ending. I just feel the characters have arc-ed to the point where they can barely arc no more. And if Nate/Brenda are finally together, for reals, then it seems like a natural ending for the series.
I just wish the DVDs weren't so gosh darn pricey - I already pay for HBO! Why the markup on DVDs? 75-85 bucks for thirteen episodes is obscene. I also think moving to Mondays is a stupid, stupid idea. HBO spent years establishing Sundays as their night. Don't throw that away on the awful, awful Entourage. (Guilty pleasure, but still bad. I have the LA-living excuse). I know that they're kinda freaked since SATC is gone, the Sopranos is on such a sporadic schedule, etc. The good part about the Monday move is that the premiere is right before my b'day. Nice gift!
*also, he visited an acting class and is more than a little eccentric himself.

For the next three nights, from 8-11 P.M., EST, HBO2's having mini-marathons of SFU's 4th season by showing 3 episodes a night, in preparation for the big premiere Monday night.

Thanks for the recap, Shawna! This may make me unpopular but, I really wanted to smack Nate last season, with the whining and the moaning

I fell for this show during the first season. I absolutely loved it. Dysfunctional people all over the place. I felt like I was at home (Favorite lines included Nate's response to Brenda asking him if he's ever slept with someone without having sex with her, and his response to Brenda's brother giving them a dildo).
The second season, not so much, because it was the same stuff all over again. I don't have cable, but when I got around to watching the fourth season in various hotels, I was just kinda...umm, yeah. You know, like you can only watch people screwing each other over for so long before you just get bored and stop caring about them.

As much as I love the Normal Loving Chenowiths! clan, I really hope they bring back Batshit Crazy Billy (I have a thing for sexy unstable men).

HeyAlice you weren't alone. I wanted to smack Nate last season too. By the end of the season the only two people I liked were Keith and the Kathy Bates charecter -- who only showed up in a few episodes, unfortunatly.
I think that HunterGreyson is right and the charecters arced in season three. Season 4 was just a really long memorial. I hope they pull the writing together for the final season.
