I agree heyalice. Both of those characters are awesome.
I need to catch a rerun of the previous season's finale. I feel a little lost on how it all ended, other than it was the Most Depressing Season Ever. Sheesh.
I'll still watch the premiere though.

Well, it seems Brenda's wedding day was a little on the bittersweet side to say the least.

Good Lord, was that depressing! I am happy the way David and Keith's storyline has startedout though.

I really enjoyed the acting, as usual. It would be nice though if someone in the Fisher household (besides David) could be happy for an entire episode.
Also isn't it a bit cliched (at least in the Fisher Universe) to have Brenda miscarry? The George and Ruth charecters gave great performances. Particuarlly George, I found myself almost crying at his confustion at Ruth's shame. I love, love, love how great Keith and David are doing and actually did a girly squeal of happiness when they made their decision about children at the wedding. I wish that Claire would just shut up but Nate wasn't too annoying and Brenda's Mom was actually sort of caring and maternal.
Overall, it wasn't a bad episode. I still wish they'd go back to it being as much about the people who died as it is about the Fisher family.

Did anyone watch last night? I missed the end and the part where Rico was at Vanessa's. What did he say to her?

Rico lied and said that the girl he was dating was dead in order to get some sympathy time with Vanessa. It worked; she agreed to go to dinner with Rico and the boys. If she finds out about the lie she'll be hella pissed.

So far, this season of Six Feet Under has been so much better than last season. I actually get the feeling that we are going somewhere (yeah, I know the End, but still). I don't get the Nate Vibe of Aimlessness that I had last season. That said, I don't like what the bird eating the Wedding Cake as Nate watches portends. That is typical Nate---picking at his happiness until he makes scabs of discontent. The marriage to Brenda might be ground down with his discontents and her addictions. I used to like Ruth the best. She was always going on her retreats to reconnect with her sister or to her self improvement workshops or getting a job. She was always attempting to improve herself. Now she just wallows in self-pity and makes me dislike her. Help! Where is Bettina? According to the HBO site, Kathy Bates is coming back as Bettina. Hurry Up! The relationship between Claire and Ruth was mainly defined by Claire's contempt for and mockery of Ruth's life. But now Ruth is lashing out at Claire. I don't see where that change in dynamics came from---yeah, I know, Ruth's self pity and wish to escape parallels Claire's old wish to escape. So they sort of changed places, but...it was too abrupt. I like Billy best off his meds, so keep flushing Billy. And attack Claire! I just love the off-hand evil of Margaret Chenowith. She ought to become the best friend or therapist of Catherine O'Hara's producer character and the two of them should run amuck like Godzilla in the Ginza. Go Girls! Did anyone notice - Nate and Brenda were married in the same spot that Mr. Chenowith (Brenda's Dad) had his funeral service
- There is so much less of Claire this season. I don't know if I like the Lindsay Lohan look on her. But it does go with Claire's use of drugs like Miss Lohan's
- Nate's daughter was the quietest child actor that I ever heard, now she's talking constantly
- George's son's mental problems last season were inherited from George---I just now picked up on that.
And that's the reason that I like this show, something from last season (or the seasons before) suddenly make sense in an episode of this season.

He said that the girl he was looking for died of a heart attack. She felt so sorry for him and was all "you take the kids out. You need to be with them" and gave him a big hug. Then you could see the lightbulb go off and he asked her to come, too. Oh Rico. I know you messed up but starting back on a big lie like this is no good.
I heard that the actor who plays George is really furious with the character's current direction. He says HBO didn't tell him this would happen and he wouldn't have taken the part had he known the guy was going to turn crazy.

Poor poor Rico. And this is coming from someone who's husband cheated on her. I don't know why I feel sympathy for him, but I do.
Wasn't the spot that Nate & Bren's wedding took place as well as Bren's fathers funeral, their choice of location for their first wedding that never happend?
