I did. Lordy I did. I have friends like that. "Blah blah, my problems, my problems, this and that and I have so many problems" so on behalf of all of the Brendas in my life, I cheered for the woman.

That's what I still love about SFU. Just when you think it's a whiny Thirtysomething re-hash it takes a sharp turn.

Me too. I'm so fucking sick of Nate. No matter what happens, no matter who he's with he'll never be happy, he'll always want something, someone else. When he was married to Lisa he wanted Brenda, now he's married to Brenda and he wants Maggie. If he divorced Brenda and married Maggie, he'd want Brenda again...AH. Die Nate Die! Brenda would be better off without him.
When is the last epsiode anyway?

So now that he did, are we all pleased? Because I'm sure not. God, poor poor Brenda.
I am really going to be intrigued as to how the next three (only 12 this year) episodes deal with everything.
Oh my god, I imagine that the first scene of next week, when Ruth arrives back from camping, is gonna be crazy. Yet the previews showed her being surprisingly together. You know, for Ruth.
Loving Clare -- hoping she can turn passionate political disagreements into passion elsewhere. Ted was adorable this episode.
Maggie should've fucking left the hospital when she wanted to. Her last scene with Nate, with the loving looks of pure Quaker (homewrecking) serenity? Ugh. I know it would be out-of-this show's character for him to suddenly realize how good he has it with Brenda, but him leaving her in the hospital was intolerable. I even expect someone as screwed up as Nate to have some sense of timing or tact. Brenda was right -- he can never love anyone and he's probably the only person she's loved. Tragic, no?
I know Brenda's a narcissist as well, but it seems like she knows it since she's so self-analytical and a product of psychology. I haven't watched the second or third season yet, but she has definitely grown and changed a lot. Just looking at how she handled Billy this season demonstrates a progression towards maturity. I wonder if the series will end with the birth of her baby -- a circle of life thing.

Well, Neurochik you got your wish. Tonight's episode was a bit predictable, although for a while there I thought the mother was gonna bite the big one by being attacked and eaten by a cougar.
I am really liking Claire's new guy. I'm waiting for his crazy to kick in. So far, he's normal.

My comment about tonight's episode:
{THUD & FAINT}
I knew Nate was a goner and, damn, was I hoping for it, but the end of the episode --- almost 12 minutes before the end of the hour --- still threw me for a loop. I didn't expect it at all, not in *this* episode, and not so suddenly. Next week or the week thereafter, fine, but just like that....?!!!!
I'm stunned.
That said, the Narcissist King is dead! I'd say, Long live the next narcissistic King (or Queen)... but that would be Ruth. Calling her a bitter, shrivelled up, prune-ish *itch would be an insult to those B***** everywhere who have a heart, compassion and, most importantly, take some responsibility for their actions. The day that cow stops blaming everyone but herself is the day Armageddon arrives.

I wonder if the series will end with the birth of her baby -- a circle of life thing. I never did like Brenda. Even though she has grown and matured she had the attitude that Nate was supposed to change with her. She never realized that her "differentness" is what Nate fell in love with in the first place. Now that she has changed and is going the more conventional route with marriage and kids, she expects Nate to just go along with her program and do what she wants. Not that Nate was right for cheating on her. But damn! When folks say you change after marriage, Brenda is a classic example of that. And Nate couldn't handle that. And she should have realized that. Instead of obsessing and being so concerned with herself.

Ruth really needs to be let in on the little life lesson that you teach others how they can treat you. So if she's unhappy because she's always playing the victim martyr mother role, she should stop letting people treat her like that. Ugh. She tires me.
I think Claire is finally learning the difference between that whole difference between the guys you date and the guys you end up with. Lawyer Boy is a guy you end up with. Sure he's a republican but he was there for her when she needed support.
I was so glad when Nate died. What an asshole. Seriously, I hope next week Brenda says "Oh, it's my decision on how he's put to rest. Let's all piss on the body and bury it upsidedown in Maggie's front lawn. It's what he would have wanted" Ass.
And Maggie could have easily walked over to that doctor without an audience and said "Um, we did the big nasty but I'm not his wife, it happened right after that so let's keep this on DL, mmmkay?" Ugh. Hate.
You realize what a great actor the guy playing David is when you see the pothead scene and it's just as believable as uptight David is. Give the guy an Emmy.

Seriously, I kept saying to myself, "who is that guy and what does he have to do with Nate's coma?" It took me a full minute before I realized that it was David. Amazing.

Seriously, I was convinced the dude jumping out of the van was Nate's old friend, Chester the Molester.
Even though I found Nate to be whiner I was a bit stunned. Not surprised he died, though still sad. He was an ass to Brenda and ,Jesus on a cracker, Maggie and he deserve each other. He's finally found someone weaker than him. SHe probably has one of those cold, limp, wet handshakes.
That is until he went and died on her. Ha! Brenda was right. He can't commit to anyone. Now I'm laughing. Brilliant.
