Well, I think that it really happened. Nate never knew about the poncho buying spree anyway.
Brenda has decided to continue her pregnancy and take the responsibilities that come with it. And she is going to take a chance on the baby (which in a way, is just like Margaret's comments on her decision to abort both Brenda and Billy until she was talked out of it by her husband). Margaret's choices didn't make her a good mother; now, we'll see about Brenda's choices.
While Nate just decides to commune with God. Nate will do anything to evade responsibility. What would God do? So if anything goes wrong, well, it's God's fault, now isn't it?
How much lying and evasion and episodes did it take until he buried Lisa properly under that tree. And he kept lying about it until Lisa's family found out. Compare that to Lisa's lies about her affair with her brother-in-law. In a way, they were perfect for each other.

This show is so fucking good, I can't stand it! No previews for next week! Gads! What is with Nate? I like that lawyer guy for Claire. David is such a MOTHER! This show is so fucking good, I can't stand it!

Looks like a bunch of ambiguous story lines kinda sorta leading to something. How many episodes are left?
Ruth and Hiram(?) belong together. Nate??? overwhelming guilt causes rush of blood to the head? David and Keith found two screwed up, but loveable, kids to match their screwed up, but loveable, selves. Unless Darell torches the place. Russell was creepy, a usual. Could Claire lead the straight life? With a little kink on the side.

My mom's comment: "So that's what happens when you fuck a quaker!"
I have to say, I wasn't the least bit sorry. Nate's constant whining and complaining have gotten quite tiresome.

Rico went over to Vanessa's (and his) place and she was eating spaghetti and being a nasty bitch to him like he always is. She dropped the kids off at his mom's place and only made dinner for himself. He sort of blew up a little (tiny little blow up) and was like "Listen, I can't live here like this. You obviously hate me. I'm just here to mow the lawn, take care of the kids and occasionally make love while you have a bored look on your face. If this doesn't change, I'm moving out" and she's like "I don't want you to leave but I'm not sure I can forgive you yet" and they sort of hit an impasse. But at least they got their feelings out in the open so they are both being honest. Then they went out to dinner together. So maybe a reconciliation will happen one day?
And I'm going to be very disappointed if Nate's last words are "narm. NARM!"

Remember the rumours that one of the main charecters was going to die this year? At first I thought it was bat-shit-crazy Billy. But it would make sense for it to be Nate, as a full circle sort of thing.
Thoughts?

I thought the same thing as you---that Billy would off himself or would try to kill one of the main characters in a psychotic rage but would die in the process. Now I'm almost 90% sure they'll just kill off Nate. This is just speculation though. I have no spoiler information.
At this point I almost hope they do. I'm so sick of his whiney bitching I could scream. Nate can't stay happy no matter what happens. He's so freakin' whiney. And I hate Maggie too so if her Cootchie of Death manages to kill him, I'll be happy that she has to carry that on her conscience.
I really only like Claire & David now. I'm just watching for closure at this point.

She's just so serene and sly and hypocritcal that I want to slap her. I really do think that it is Nate who is going to die. They've just set him up to be so unlikeable this season that it would make sense. I mean it would seriously upset me if any of the other main charecters died. Even Brenda, because at least she tries.

My bet in the Six Feet Under Death Pool was Billy Chenowith too.
But now I see that it will be Nate which makes sense. The series started with Nate reappearing at the Fisher's Funeral Home after his father's death and there was Nate's resurrection (when the actor agreed to a new contract) in Season 3. It makes sense and is in keeping with the tightly written and frequent past episodes referrals of the show's writers that it all end with Nate.
After all, he spent this episode informing David and Rico what he wanted in the event of his death. And like the deceased, Pilar, he did something dangerous and foolish just for the heck of it and paid the price. And in some past episodes, didn't Nate deal with a dog psychic and contemplate a future at a Doggy Day Care?
So for the remainder of this season, we'll see everyone deal with Nate's death. And he might not be dead; just resting---in a vegetative state until the end.
BTW, I am really liking Claire and her possibilites again.

That was a hell of a stroke Nate had.
I'm disappointed that Maggie had sex with a married man. I don't hate the character as others do, but I wish she'd have protested a little more! One little "this is wrong" and that's it?
Anyone else cheer when Brenda's boss/friend told het to shut the fuck up?
