Debi Mazar as Carmela? No freakin' way. I love Debi but, she's no Carm.
I love that Christopher Walken has begged his wife to get him on the show but, no dice.

I'll watch this when it airs tonight but I'm not jumping up and down with enthusiasm the way I once was about this show. For one thing, I'm irritated by the incredible gaps between seasons. For another, I think it went down in quality as a whole from the earlier seasons. Sure, there have been some great episodes in each of the last two seasons but overall, it's not as good as the days of Pine Barrows or when Livia was on it.

Unpopular opinion: I loathe Carmela with a passion. Tony is no saint but Carmela is the ultimate hypocrite, IMO. She's a coldly calculating, money-obsessed mercenary who fully knew the life she was getting herself into, didn't leave when she had the chance, yet insists on acting like a victimized martyr. Her completely unjustified holier-than-thou attitude drives me crazy. I can't decide who I want to slap more: Carmela or her moronic, obnoxious son.

Don't even know who that Cooper guy talking smack about Frankie Valli in that article, but he was too kind. FV SUCKED so very hard. Kept wondering how the hell he got on the show- even more so now seeing who didn't make it. One of the few casting screwups I can recall from the entire series. Guess he's got compromising photos of someone.

I'd agree that the quality's been going down the past couple seasons, but I'm really hoping that they've gone all out for the last one, or one and a half. I'm rooting for Tony to finally get fed up with Paulie's backstabbing and take him out.

I don't have HBO or even cable at my fiance's house. I wasn't expecting it to affect me, as the Sopranos have been away for so long, but it hit me hard about 7:00 last night. I'm still depressed today.
I want to call DirecTV so bad, but we discussed it and both feel that we'd watch too much TV. **Sigh**

Wow. Now that's the way to start a season! I have two questions though:
1. Who is the woman Carm had dinner with? I thought it might have been Angie, but I don't think it was.
2. Have we seen much of the guy who killed himself before?
If you can't tell, I have a hard time remembering the 50 billion people Chase expects us to memorize.
