The judges said at the beginning of the season that they were going to score Amy the same as everyone else, but then Deputy Carrie Ann of the Lift Police flat out said tonight that she wouldn't mark down for the lifts like she normally would because she knew they were to compensate for Amy's inability to actually do waltz steps. And then Len didn't mark down for breaking hold after reaming Charlie out for it two weeks ago.
On the one hand, I love Amy and I was choked up seeing her so emotional after the dance, and was happy for her that she was dressed like a princess and got 10's. On the other hand, if you have no legs and you cry, you get 10s, even though you really could not do a decent waltz and by the way Derek you're not fooling anybody when you drag out that smoke machine.
Shameful confession: I am a Meryl and Maks shipper and I check tumblr constantly for gifs and fanfiction.

I wish someone would explain why the friggin lifts are so life or death to Carrie Ann, yet the other judges don't seem to even care. Especially Len, who has way more cred than that dummy can ever hope to have.
I think they bit off more than they could chew with Amy. How do you score her? They claim they score people the same way, but then out comes the smoke, Derek carries her around, and she still gets 9's? Derek does look like Prince Charming, though. Well, sort of an evil, village of the damned version of him.
I thought Tony was going to cut someone last night. Probably Carrie Ann for saying that sending NeNe to Derek was a great motivator. Then he looked like he was going to punch Erin. NeNe is the one he should have punched. She came back to him all high and mighty about how GREAT Derek is, and she now can tell TONY what to do. Derek basically told her to wave her arms around. No wonder she loved him.
Surprised that more people weren't voting for Cody. He had all of his "I'm so grateful" lines down pat, but the kid always looked miserable. And he was always way over-scored.
WTF is Donny Osmond doing to his face? It just keeps getting ... bigger. He's got a big ole jack-o'-lantern head.

I think it's the only rule of ballroom dancing that she knows and can spot when it's broken. I suspect she has a little index card that she consults which lists which dances allow lifts and which don't.

I'm actually really pulling for Candace at this point. Isn't she what the show is about - a "star" learning to dance? I love Charlie and Meryl, but it's just a whole other level that they're on. And while Amy is inspiring (despite TWOP wanting to toss her out on her head), Derek is doing a little too much covering for her handicap. I don't care if Candace is constantly worshipping and thanking whatever - she is adorable and so into it (and she was pretty hot paired with Charlie!). She's wearing the costumes, she's doing the sexy moves, Kirk's head is probably on fire - it's all good!

I've really enjoyed Candace's improvement from week to week. She and Charlie had surprisingly great chemistry in their contemporary last night! Charlie's usually got a problem with females who aren't his girlfriend, and Candace needs to leave room for the Holy Spirit, so I was shocked. That said, James can go next week and then it's Candace's turn IMO.
Facebook analyists have been surprisingly accurate for the past few years predicting who is going to be eliminated based on Facebook support. If the numbers are to be believed, Charlie barely edged out Danica to stay in last week. Amy and Candace are getting more support than Charlie, but they are very firmly in the middle in terms of fan support. Meryl is way, way in the lead, followed by James.
Kudos to Maks for telling that see-you-next-Tuesday Abby Lee Miller that he didn't care about anything she had to say. Mark and Derek have both talked shit about her online in the past, but nobody else had the guts to say it to her face. She almost wrecked the show last night for me.
Also, I loved Maks and Meryl's rumba. I can see why it would get marked down for being too contemporary (although 8 was not warranted) but it was still a great performance.
Oh yeah, and I'm through with Amy getting spotted "inspiration" points. Her dances are good, but not deserving of perfect scores by any means. It's amazing some of the things she's been able to do. At the same time, she never gets marked down for the things she can't do, or even for mistakes, and that is really irritating.

How exactly does someone who sits through half her routine get a higher score than Charlie White? Come on.

There was a big backlash last week because Derek had Amy spend so much of her dance sitting on a stool. This week he was like, "Guess what? I'm gonna have her sitting down for the WHOLE TIME this week, and we're still gonna get a tongue bath from the judges, suckers!" It's really ridiculous, especially since she had just done a dance where she proved she can move around the floor.
Also, I'm new to DWTS, but I've been catching up on past seasons on youtube. This is the THIRD time Derek has brought out that table. Didn't the judges remember that when they were going on and on about how creative he is? And the table is always to mask the weaknesses of the dancer, and he never gets called out for not actually having his dancer dance.

They're not even pretending to care that much about Amy anymore - it's all about DEREK. She's still getting the, "Wow, you're so inspiring!" comments, but they really just want to see the sneaky choreography. I admit - it's fascinating to see what he can do to cover for his partners (and I just watched his table dance with Amber Riley! She was a mediocre winner for sure). I think at this point more people are voting for Derek than whoever he is partnered with. I asked my 80 year old mother-in-law who she was pulling for (didn't even know she was watching the show!), and she said, "DEREK"! Not even a celeb - just Derek. And - she's Russian! Come on, where's the Maks love, lady?!
Poor Charlie - he danced his sweet little happy heart out. I'm hoping the FB stuff is true, and Meryl will just blow them all away. It's not exactly fair - she's a PRO. But I guess it's better than Derek (and oh yeah... Amy) or James.

Yay, Maks! You'll always have the Mirror Ball Trophy, even if Meryl doesn't like you back!

He may be a prima donna douche in real life, but I'm glad he finally won.
