I'm liking this show. Lisa Kudrow will give you insecure, fucked up, selfish, egomaniac bitch like no other. The show is funny and sad at the same time and I feel so uncomfortable watching it. But I can't stop watching it.
Anyone watching?

Missed yesterday's ep but I love this show. There's some discussion of it in Kudrow's thread. If she isn't on the short list come awards time I'll be very disappointed.

This show makes me cringe so much I don't know what to think. Are actors really like this?

I'm sure some of them are. I think the show is fantastic. Kudrow's acting is constantly impressing me.
I'm kind of surprised by Pauly G's behavior. Are writers really allowed to be so curt to the actors?
Anyway, I think this show is really well done. I'm bummed we don't get a new episode this week.

awesome. Come back to tell us what you think. Its so fun hearing everyone's reactions to it. When it first aired, my friend was just adamantly against it but now he's turned into SuperFan.
Also, did anyone else think that Pauly G was going to run over her puppy on purpose?? I was already hiding my eyes.

It's sort of uncomfortable to watch, but I keep doing so; I think because it's not real. If Valerie Cherish was a real person, and the show was about her actual life, I'd change the channel really fast-I'd feel so embarrassed for her!
Latest episode: I didn't like the subplot about the puppy. Sorry, but I just really hate people who go, "Ooh! Let's get a pet, it's soo cute!" and then it poops and whines and they get tired of it and get rid of it. So I wasn't too pleased with Valerie on that count. Twit.
I heard that this show is tanking already. Does anyone know if that's true?

I think it's doing relatively well. Not everything on HBO is going to be a runaway hit like Sopranos or SATC so it can be tough to gauge.
I thought the puppy subplot was fairly true to life because, like you said, its exactly what people do. And what was funny to me was that I don't think she even wanted the puppy that much but felt like she had to get it since she was ooohing about it while really just trying to talk to the new writer. She gets herself into more trouble by thinking she's backed into a corner when she'd be fine if she just didn't give a shit.

I heard that this show is tanking already. Does anyone know if that's true? I think it will do good. Like Entourage. Last year that show was slow to pick up steam. Now it's very popular, there is even Emmy talk. I think The Comeback will be fine. The good news is that even if it isn't doing that great, HBO can still keep it on; they are not dependent on advertisers.

What are typical ratings for HBO? I remember someone saying either here or at FT that one year "Newlyweds" was the second highest rated cable show behind "Sex and the City". I was kind of surprised to hear that the most watched show on cable was on HBO.
