I used to somewhat enjoy this show when Lisa Ling was on it, because at least her intelligence could temper what came out of the mouths of the other shrews. But the show jumped the shark the minute Zilla got gastric bypass and they foisted that moron Bitsy on us.
It's so far gone, there's nothing redeeming about it other than serving as fodder for snark.
Oh and Barbara's starting to drool.

I used to love The View. But Star ruined it for me.
And Elizabeth who I used to like on that Style network show turned out to be a moron when she opened up her mouth to speak on issues.

So this whole experiment to take women from different places in life has turned into 'hey, look at all these bitches going on and on about shit that nobody cares about and see how little their demographics mean now that they're more concerned with personal chefs than actual women issues?' Ouch.

Ouch. I totally agree. Do you remember the old opening sequence when Barbara would do that voice over "I had this idea for a show blah blah blah a mother and journalist, a fat ass black lawyuh, an Italian funny lady, and the young one which will be replaced sporadically"? Okay, so that wasn't exactly what she said, but anyway, now that they're rich, their backgrounds aren't that diverse anymore. And the older they all get, the less of a generation gap there is.

Can someone please explain to me what it was that Debbie Matenopolis did that was so bad she was fired for it but Elizabeth Hasselbeck is so worth keeping?

I didn't watch then but heard about it later. She wouldn't keep her lips on Babs' ass and refused to "play along" with the others.
God, it was all Star could do today not to grab all those cakes off the plates with her hooves and start shoveling!

Debbie has alluded to the possibility that she might write a book or something based on her experience on "The View". The way she was treated--whatever actually happened--really hurt her feelings. When Good Day Live went off the air, she nearly started crying and said that being on that show helped heal the pain she had from getting kicked off "The View". I really felt for her.

I think she shouldn't look at it as being kicked off, but rather escaping.

Good Day Live had Lisa Ling on one day. At the end of the show, Debbie basically said, she thought Star was her friend. Star was the one who took her under her wing, like Lisa, and convinced her she was safe. Debbie didn't say exactly what happened but, I came away with the feeling that Debbie did something in public, that should have been private. And Star tattled on her.
Maybe she kissed a girl at a bar or took a toke, in front of Star. Whatever. We all know how good Star is at "playing" in public. Young Debbie was not. Lisa knew the game, and played it well.
I'd buy that book.

Wow, I'd buy that book too. Star's the type of person that your Mom used to warn you about when you were a kid. Grins in your face while stabbing you in the back.
