Well you can probably guess who I like. My one complaint is that some things are a little obtuse, specifically the Cylon's "plan." Is it to be human and create clones or to breed with humans? Hard to say what their plan really is. But things will definitely get hotter soon with that psycho Admiral Cain at the helm.

I'm sort of losing interest in this series. The original Caine was a maverick tactical wizard. The direction the new characters and story is taking these days is just far too contrived for me. I have nothing against all the new female roles, I just think they changed from the original characters way to much. I really love the new Starbuck and the fact that Adama and Appollo don't get along. I'm just losing interest I guess.

I've only seen 2 episodes of the show (Downloaded, and the one that aired tonight) so I was rather confused, but still, that was pretty honking awesome. I mean, I didn't get everything, but that was some good television right there. "One year later"? Can they DO that? Well, I guess they can, because they just did. I was really impressed by the writing and acting -- it was about 10 bajillion times better than anything I would expect from the Sci-Fi channel.
The only good thing about getting into this show late is surviving the wait till October (!) by catching up with the past two seasons. Woo!

I thought Katee looked absolutely gorgeous with the longer hair.
I hadn't ever watched the series before the second half of Season 2 - bought the S1 DVDs, TiVoed the S2.0 marathon and caught up quickly...as soon as I watched the miniseries, I was hooked.
And kudos. Maddiemoo for managing to watch this without prior episodes. I have no idea how the finale part two would make sense or be much fun without seeing Part 1-slash-the entire season. Yeah, you can totally catch up on DVD (S1 and the first half of S2 are out) and Itunes. I personally can not wait until they release the most recent episodes on DVD because I think there are gonna be a ton of deleted scenes. Seriously, since it's Sci-Fi's highest rated show, they just should've given them permission to run long or something because at least 4 or 5 episodes have included clips in the "previouslies" that were never seen in the actual episodes. I am still trying to figure out the significance of the scene between Lee and Duella that they showed this week and last. "I'm leaving Galactica, not you?" Sooooo what, exactly?
I totally freaked out at "One Year Later" as well. When I saw the office and the scantily clad girl, I just thought Gaius was losing his mind as usual. And give Tricia Helfer some kind of award nomination ASAP. I don't think she had hardly any lines tonight as Six-Gina (? - Jacob claims that's the abused version's name, but I've never heard it), but she expressed so much with her face and eyes. And she manages to distinguish the various models from each other so well - the one in Downloaded, the one in Gaius's head, etc...
Speaking of - why could she see Gaius too? There has to be some big payoff for that. Why were they (the Cylons were, right?) looking for Starbuck at the end of tonight's episode?

I can't remember what exactly in the series prompted it, but there's a lot of speculation that Starbuck has a destined role to play a la Mme President's sick ruler who will lead us to a new planet role. And, the Cylons have always seemed very interested in her (because of that role, supposedly).
That said, some people are speculating that with Rosalin all better and Anders sick, that he might be the destined leader. I don't think so. That would be like finding out Kobe is really the second coming.

That last episode nearly blew my mind. I guess that's what I get for staying spoiler free. Wow.

Damn. I just saw Part 2 of Lay Down Your Burdens and damn. Just when I thought this show might be losing some steam it comes back with a wallop to remind you to keep tuning in. We have to download it from iTunes so I just got to see it.
Very clever the way they rapid aged the whole thing. I was a little spoiled for the Baltar presidency and I did wonder if the last part was in his head, but it doesn't appear to be so. I don't really understand why the Cylons showed back up, but I'm sure we'll get a more thorough explanation in OCTOBER. Speaking of October, that is much, much, too long to wait. I really, really want to know what caused the dustup between Lee and Starbuck and whether Lee and Dualla are still a couple.
My one big criticism is the Starbuck/Anders relationship. I never felt like it was really fleshed out -- all of the sudden she was in love with him and Lee was all but forgotten. I know they need to keep the sexual tension going, but Anders has never made much sense to me.
As soon as that guy's shirt appeared on the screen I knew it was Leobon. Interesting that he is looking for Starbuck. He was the Cylon that she interrogated in Season 1. Logically, they should want to kill Starbuck, but I don't think that's why he's looking for her. The Cylons have always had their eye on Starbuck as something special.
Last, can I just say I really miss Billy. His absence is such a void.
peachesandcream, what other board do you frequent? Now that I am all caught up I'd like to hear all of the theories.

snarkfestI really enjoyed the episode, even if I had a bit of a problem with the jump forward. After thinking about it more, I found it necessary. It would have been too boring to see them setting up camp and getting pregnant. Instead we see they don't have much of a life in the promised land, and Adama is relaxed and expecting the Cylons to never come back. And I'm NOT a Starbuck fan, but I loved the long hair. She was soooo not the Starbuck I hate, bitchy, bossy and She-ra - ish. She was a nice wife! Nice change for her.

I thought Starbuck looked very pretty with long hair. But I still wonder where she found hair dye if everyone is living in tents. And Apollo is super duper hot./totally shallow post
