October, huh? All I can say is: Rogers Internet had better not start throttling certain filetypes (even though it would be wrong and I would never). Thanks for the promo link! (I was almost starting to forget about the arms on that Bamber guy.)

Would it be too out there to think that maybe Gaius will be the dying leader who leads humanity to Earth? Hence maybe the Cylon interest in him ... beyond, you know, being able to exploit his weaknesses for their own end?

Interesting theory, Yossarian! Like maybe Laura is just "too obvious"?
What I don't get is: if the Cylons hate humans so much, why are they so obsessed with breeding with them? (i.e. Boomer and Helo and that whole "gyno center" episode with Starbuck)
(And, hmm, yeah - those Apollo arms are indeed mesmerizing! And that episode where he was only wearing a towel, at one point - *drool*!)

This little Gaius theory is one of many I have floating around in my head:
1. Gaius looked so rough in the last ep and between the love/guilt he feels over Six he is destroying himself so maybe he inadvertently will lead humanity to earth? 2. Maybe New Caprica is Earth? He's already lead them there but, because he gave Six the war-head, the Cylons were able to track them there contrary to the myth. And maybe that's why the Cylons were so determined to interact with him all along? 3. I can also get on board with the Starbuck as future President idea too though. The Cylons definitely have a thing for her - and it's probably her who will end up saving/leading them on New Caprica so that could make sense. 4. whatever - as long as I don't have to deal with Roslin squinting as she makes a hard decision, I'll be happy!

This show is my guilty pleasure and I make no apologies. Can hardly wait for the new season to start. More Anders please. And yes, the Cylons do have a weird obsession with Starbuck.

I feel a pre-Season Three marathon coming on. Champ and I believe that Earth and the Cylon home planet are one and the same, since the Cylons are so secretive about where their crib is. Did you hear the true gossip totally unsubstantiated rumour about Kate "Ellen Tigh" Vernon getting injected with bad, superdiscounted fauxtox, having a severe reaction and the writers needing to wedge an explanation for her appearance into the storyline?

Don't mind me . . . I just saw this show for the first time a few nights ago and have not yet formed an opinion - other than, I fracking love that they use the word "frack" as a "fuck"-substitute Makes me snicker every time Also, thought all you fans out there might appreciate this salon article (you have to watch a brief ad to access the site)

I was SOOOO about to post that article! In sum, it talks about how BSG is not really sci-fi and how people (cough, cough, Emmy Academy!, cough) have such a bias against SciFi and it's name that they don't even attempt to give it a chance. And has the following awesome list: Preposterously hot, indeed.Wow - intriguing spoiler, bstewart but of all the characters you could make up a bad botox explanation for, she's the one.

I spent the past few days watching the first two seasons with my boyfriend, who was very surprised when I asked him to bring the DVDs over. All I can say is that it was nothing like what I thought it would be, and in this case that's a good thing. I thought it would be mediocre sci-fi, not unlike the stuff my father used to watch. Instead, it's just awesome and dramatic and gripping and better than most of the shows that won Emmys this year.
The Salon article just reminded me that my boyfriend watched the show, so I decided to get caught up before the next season starts in the fall. 'Twas a good decision. Battlestar has filled the void between the end of summer finales and the season premieres for me, and I just wish I got Sci-Fi. I'll have to either download the new episodes as they come or buy the DVDs after the season's over, and there's no way I can wait a year to find out what happens.
