Bumped because there is a banner above all threads advertising the latest BL and Jillian Michaels is not amongst the trainers. Hmmm. I'm not sure I knew that would be the case. Was there some flouncing article on her departure that I missed? I know she seemed pretty P.O.'ed with a lot of the shenanigans that went on last season (Penalizing her team in order to keep Reuben on the show, plus what went down with the winner's skeletization) But I don't recall any big announcements that she would not be back.
No biggie (heh)
This season should be interesting because it looks like all the contestants will be former athletes. I think that will be better than the usual lifelong couch potatoes/ former athlete mix.
But I'm not sure if I'll be tuning in. (Even though I LOOOOOVES me some Dolvett!!) I felt really wrong after the way the last season went down. The winner skeletized herself because it was the ONLY way she had a chance to win by their rules and guidelines. There's got to be some kind of failsafe to keep that from going down. The contestants are supposedly under the care of doctors- but I think the producers can override doctor's orders if it'll make for some drama... and the docs are of course employed by the Show so there's issues there.
Besides, I can't be this Show's bitch. I got Sleepy Hollow to watch and stuff!

The new girl Jen looks like Shania Twain during her "Any man of mine" era. Very beautiful. One of the contestants was a hunk before he gained the weight. He's still good looking but he had the abs and everything.

These trainers are soo much more likable than pissy face Jillian and ragey Bob (although damn, he's still there in the hidden second chance place). And the Pavelka guy is not obnoxious like his cousin(?) Jake the Famewhore.
I'm liking the athlete angle and hope they end up bringing the hot at the end.

I finally broke down and watched the first episode last night (I know there's been another, but I didn't have the time/ desire to watch the second just yet). New male trainer? TOTAL hottie!! Dang, between him and Dolvett that's a LOT of pretty in one gym!! If Bob would ever get off this Grizzly Adams quest he seems to be on and learn how to operate a razor, the pretty would be triplified!
New hottie trainer didn't do so well with his team on the scale- however, rather than think he's not as good- I wonder more if his methods aren't actually the sanest of the group. I mean, his team didn't get any Biggest Loser style numbers... but as has been discussed many times over the years- BL numbers are NUTSO! Hottie man probably excels at getting folks to drop weight at a reasonable healthy rate in the real world. So props to him and his normal rate weight losing team!!
(I did find out his cousin is Bachelor Jake though. Umm... eww... though that's not his fault. Still, eww... he has to face that at family reunions. Bachelor Cooties!! The Horror! The Horror! Poor guy!)
New female trainer has a very Jillian like voice which is a bit unnerving. She doesn't seem quite as into beatings though and hasn't yet had anyone carry her around as part of the training.
While I think the premise of this season is interesting- I did get damn tired of HEARING about how these folks are former athletes. Of course, that's how they do. They get a theme for the season and then run it into the ground, so I shouldn't be shocked.
Poor Zina though! Not just for the first elimination stigma- but for the total wipe out only inches from victory! There had to have been some heat exhaustion or dehydration going on there because if she was deemed healthy enough to get on the show, she shouldn't have gotten that immobilized right at the end. See, extreme restriction of calories and liquids? Not an ok thing, Show!! Glad she's doing better at home and in a much saner environment. It's cool she now trains tennis pros... and can run up stadium steps (I sure as heck can't do that!)
ETA: I've since seen the second episode and now share Mrs. Oldmanballs horror over the shirt! EEEEEK! Also I just noticed that Damian is either from my hometown or likes my hometown enough to have its state and area code tattooed on his peck. Werid and random.
I hope Rob's meltdowns aren't going to be a season long thing.

I like the new trainers, though I do have several of Jillian and Bob's workout DVDs which I use when traveling. The new guy is a total hottie.
