I've just downloaded and am hugely enjoying Mark "Sherlock/Doctor Who" Gatiss's supercomprehensive and personal 3-parter "A History of Horror". Call me a gingerphile, but if Gatiss wasn't already gaymarried, I'd be so superstalking him.
It's cute to see him charming the middle- and older-aged women from early horror films with his unabashed fanboyishness.

Spoilerzzz
Moriarty is in the second series, so he doesn't die in the cliffhanger. The three episodes are going to be The Hound of the Baskerville (Mark Gatiss has been tweeting cool pics from filming), A Scandal in Belgravia, and The Final Problem (The Reichenbach Fall).

Yay for spoilers - so it seems that [spoilers]Moriarty is around for season two, but if the third episode follows the events of the book, he won't be around for the third[/spoilers]

Thanks for the heads-up on Gatiss' tweets, tszuj. I found out yesterday that a friend of mine was once set up on a date with Gatiss but he declined as Gatiss had until then portrayed only gross and creepy characters in "League of Gentlemen". Isn't my friend kicking himself now.

Has anyone watched "The IT Crowd"? It stars Chris O'Dowd who played the cop in Bridesmaids as one of three people in an IT department of a large corporation. Funny, funny, funny. It really has some great dialogue.
Unfortunately, there are only four very brief seasons (of six episodes each).

YES! Love "The IT Crowd", featuring a number of terrific performers from some of the shows I've mentioned upthread, like "Brass Eye", "Garth Marenghi's Dark Place" and "Snuff Box". Richard Ayoade also directed the wonderful "Community" episode Critical Film Studies (AKA My Dinner with Abed).

I have such a pathetic crush on Richard Ayoade. Even his name is great. Not only is he attractive, he can act, write and direct.
"I came here to drink milk and kick ass. And I've just finished my milk..." is my new motivational saying.
Chris O'Dowd has something going on in his own right. I just watched "The Crimson Petal and the White" and he's got range. It was odd seeing him in a drama, but he played it well.

I tried the IT Crowd but couldn't get into it. Will have to give it another go! Is anyone else getting excited for series 2 of Downton Abbey? For some reason I thought that it didn't start back until January, but that's just when the US gets it. (I plan on procuring it through other means once the British get it on September 18.) Here's a trailer for series 2.[/color] Get it together, Matthew and Mary!

I'm looking forward to DA too. Unfortunately I probably have to wait until January, but worth the wait.
