How 'come we don't have an Olympics thread? The openeing ceremony alone is worth a whole lot of discussion for Anglophiles. And the cycling comp was splendid just for seeing the beautiful roads & trees in the burbs.

I'm not upset to see Kelly/Socha gone from Misfits, but now Alisha/Antonia and Simon/Iwan (who I thought was the main star?) aren't coming back either. How can they tie up the very, very loose ends from series 3? I'm disappointed and frustrated. I know the actors are probably itching for something different but damn! Couldja stick around to wrap your sh*t up first?

The writers didn't know how to fix the Superhoodie storyline after S2, so they wrote them out. The actors were ready to go, but they could have done a better job IMO. I'll never forgive them & have no plans to watch S4. I did enjoy Rudy, but his wackiness & Seth's sexiness is not enough to bring me back. Not without Alisha/Simon.

I can see that being an issue. "I'm going into the future...again...to save you...again...to die for you...again..." I'm wondering how they explain it...is Simon just doing his thing in the future endlessly? And I never cared for Kelly, but she was tolerable with Seth around. The writers are decent though, I'll see what they come up with. I seriously thought Joe had a twin and realized, "Ah, top billing for two roles, there buddy!"
There was an interview where Antonia T. was asked about a US Misfits and her facial expression is priceless. But she pulls it together and she's all "I wish them...well." Who wants to watch a watered-down show with Hollywood pretties without sex, cursing, OTT violence and constantly walking-the-line stories? I can't even imagine the dialogue. "Jesus Christ, we killed the community service director! We're sooo screwed, man!" Blech.

Seriously late (like four years or so) on this but I've just watched all seasons of The Inbetweeners. Luckily I learned pretty early on that you should not eat or drink while watching the show. I liked it a lot but I'm still debating with myself whether or not I want to see the movie...

I've been raving about The Inbetweeners for years. Glad to finally meet another fan. It's the funniest thing I've seen in ages. Or yonks, if Brits still say that.

I just finished Call the Midwife. What a wonderful show! I was in tears by the end of each episode, but I swear, this isn't sentimental slop. I really hated finishing the season, but at least there's consolation in knowing that they've begun filming another.

Yeah, I really liked the series, as well. It managed to take story lines that, on paper, seem like they would be cliched and overwrought, yet somehow they were poignant and heartfelt. And I love a show that can make me laugh out loud and then cry buckets of tears without feeling emotionally manipulated.
