Going back a few months:
If I remember correctly, Mr. Holmes Senior's lines were something like "Your mother need never to have known." So, I'm guessing young Sherlock found out that his father was having an affair and spilled the beans to his mother.

Anyone else watching Twenty Twelve? Two episodes in, my adoration of Hugh Bonneville, I'm afraid, is not enough to keep me watching -- I'm just not a fan of "excruciating" comedy.

I watched the first episode when it first aired, and recorded some of the others, but yeah, it wasn't gripping/funny enough to keep me watching.

I recently watched BBC 2's adaptation of Shakespeare's Henry IV part 1 and 2. Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons, Michelle Dockery, and Julie Walters were just some of the cast. Overall, the adaptations are pretty good though, and this probably an unpopular opinion, I wasn't really impressed with the actor playing Falstaff. There was just no spark from the actor and I found myself wondering how did this guy manage to gather such a loyal group of followers and keep Prince Hal coming back.
From what I understand next week Henry V is supposed air next week so yay more Tom Hiddleston! I'm going to have to track down the adaptation of Richard II with Patrick Stewart and Ben Whishaw.

Anyone else here seen Outnumbered, a English family themed sitcom about a couple, their three kids, and extended family. Last year, I found this show while channel surfing on Ch. 20 (which in Chicago is the City College run second tier PBS station). I find it to be, at its funniest, as good as some of the family sitcoms such as Modern Family, etc--but the show doesn't seem to get much (or any really) attention here in the US.

I heard about Outnumbered but figured it wasn't for me, because I somehow developed an irrational hatred of the lead actor. But I saw a few minutes while channel surfing and the little girl in the Emergency Room scene, getting a tetanus shot, was a-freaking-MAZING. What a little gem. But not enough to overcome my based-on-absolutely-nothing dislike of Hugh Dennis.

But not enough to overcome my based-on-absolutely-nothing dislike of Hugh Dennis. I have the same irrational hatred of Michelle Ryan. She just annoys the hell out of me. While at home sick earlier this month I developed a love of British "Masterpiece" murder mysteries on Netflix. Something about the accent is so soothing so even when they're standing over the dead bodies it's very relaxing. "Oh, look, Fiona's dead. I guess we should have some tea and crumpets! Oh please, little old lady...find the killer..."

Evidently, yes, for several hours. Preceded by an episode of every Gordon Ramsey series. I miss Changing Rooms...
