The Brokeback Bachelor story is obviously fake and possible a ploy to deflect the attention from Chris and Whitney imploding. I am SOOO shocked by that...Not.

Here's an interesting interview with a former producer on The Bachelor, who co-created the new show on Lifetime called Unreal. I've seen the pilot for Unreal & liked it a lot.

I stop paying attention for 5 minutes, and she's got a new guy. Who is this Nick? Was he a former contestant on the show, or some old flame?
J J and Clint really did seem to have a connection there, but J J is just not into anyone but himself. They really found some winners here in this group.

Nick is that crazy runner-up stalker dude from Andi's season who was all, "You love meeee! I love youuuuuu! I'm going to show up on your doorstep someday. Why did you sleep with meeeee??!!! You skank!!!! Love meeeee!"
That dude.

Was anyone else getting the feeling that Nick was probably in contact with a lot of former Bachelor contestants, hoping one of them would become the Bachelorette and he could get back on tv?

What in the world is going on this season? The guys are supposed to be easygoing, the Bachelorette is supposed to be having fun, and the viewers are supposed to be able to just sit back and enjoy it all. That's not the case this time around, and I'm wondering what went wrong. Did the producers think slut-shaming was a good idea? Did they do a bad job of casting? The Nick comeback was a stupid move, that's one thing that's for sure. Now we are stuck with a bunch of uptight guys who one by one tell Caitlyn she's not all that. Too bad we have to go from here to the Bachelor. I want a do over of the Bachelorette.

Yeah. This is not a good season.
Which sucks, because I think Kaitlyn is funny and silly enough to have a potentially fun season. But it's like they are set with giving her a Pedro edit, and there's nothing to warrant that. So it just feels like the show is shitting on her. Why is that? Are they pissed that most people (at least, from what I could tell on the internet) couldn't stand that other girl who was REALLY pretty, but a totally unwatchable meltdown of embarrassing mess?
Also, she is totally getting shafted on dates. They keep making her and the guys do these performative things that are just cringe-y (doing standup, writing mariachi songs, performing rap battles, singing "A Whole New World" on Aladdin... really?). I seriously doubt this scripted show lets the Bachelorettes pick the date activities, so she's getting screwed that way, too.
Has there been more than one rose ceremony?

These are the neediest Bachelors. Every conversation seems to be about reassurance.
If looks alone counted, then Ben Z. would be the next Bachelor. But I don't think we found out much of anything else from him besides his mother dying young.

I don't know. I think it would make me hate Amy Schumer if she was constantly trying to be funny or turned the show into a weeks-long parody. I can't see that working. If all the cast members were intelligent and cool or in on the joke and immune from the producer's emotional manipulations, it would take away from the audience getting to feel intelligent and cool and in on the joke and free of producer's manipulations. It would suck the fun out watching and be kind of boring.
With Kaitlyn constantly crying. WTF? She's supposed to be the fun gal that knows how to have a good time. She has fun with Jared, but I think that's because he's stuck in the friend zone. If I had a choice, he would be my pick for the next Bachelor. Is Shawn in the running for the next Bachelor? I don't know why Kaitlyn would keep him after his borderline creepy possessiveness unless she was told to keep him on longer in order to continue his Bachelor audition.
