It is funny-I despised Cuthbert on 24, but she was adorable on Happy Endings. Comedy is more her thing.

So excited!!!
Even after everything that went down, I still want them to bring back Tony somehow. Is that wrong?

Yep, the fact that they absolutely destroyed my favourite character (and couple!) still upsets me.
Not sure yet if I'll be watching. I loved the first 5 seasons but hated everything after. Didn't even watch the final season. I couldn't stand Jack anymore and if Kiefer's producing again, then I won't have much hope. I prefer Homeland these days ;-)

It's almost time! There is a "Jack Is Back" special tonight and then the 2-hour premiere on Monday. I am so ridiculously excited!

I've been trying to catch up, purely based not on plot but on my huge crush on Kiefer Sutherland. Something about his crows' feet, and that voice, and all those long-sleeved T-shirts...sigh. Unfortunately, I'm on "evil Tony" S7, which I honest-to-God thought I dreamed up b/c it was so bizarre until that scene where they do facial recognition and he's got the evil haircut. I loved him & Michelle too. Also, watching this series back-to-back is...ridiculous. Bauer comes off as even more of an unhinged maniac, everyone is either good or evil, and CTU has terrible security. I fast forward through all non-David Palmer politics because I blah blah undermining blah Middle Eastern snore. eta: I think there should be a drinking game--a sip every time someone says "It'll take an hour" "I need it in 20 minutes!" "It'll take 30 minutes" "Get it to me in FIVE!"

I still can't believe they're bringing this show back.
I went through my own 'reunion' tour with this series about six months ago and found a few things to like in the seasons I (pretty much) refused to watch (everything post season five.) Crazy but Noble First Lady! Aaron Pierce finds love! Terrorists in the White House!
But the Jack Bauer character flat out sucks. Unwatchable by season five. Really don't know what they're going to do with him (or the material) at this very late date.

Don't forget the classic: drink every time Jack says "dammit!"

I will be hammered. It's been so long, he must have so many "dammits" built up!
And I agree, the "one man to get things done for his country...errr, through torture, shouting and mayhem" thing is looong old. I didn't put myself through Redemption (again) but it's a long haul through S7.

These two videos will never not be funny: WHERE IS IT?? compilation and Dammit compilation. My mom and I binge-watched all eight seasons of 24 when it was on Netflix a year or so ago, and it's a lot of fun watching all at once. Personally I thought 4 and 6 were the worst seasons. As much as I hated what they did with Tony in 7, overall at least that season's story was a little more coherent. Day 6 was a complete "random events plot," as they would call it on TV Tropes. I actually thought season 8 was OK, if you can accept how nuts it is. It's worth it for Cherry Jones and Anil Kapoor (and the woman who plays Kapoor's wife is awesome as well), and also for the borderline hilarious Darth Jack sequence.
