I'm sure someone can flesh this out, but they basically sacrificed themselves. They had to do something that would involve them being gassed or poisoned or something, but it would save a lot of lives if they did. Then I think they were buried at Arlington as heroes.

I remember Marita being locked up and tortured in some secret testing facility..Mulder ran into her there. I remember not being able to concentrate on anything except her totally jacked up cracked lips. I'm not sure if that was before or after she helped Krycek push CSM down the stairs. This was one of my all-time favorite shows ever, and my memory is so damn hazy. I should get the DVDs. This is what I remember happening to Marita, but obviously she turned out okay since she was back with Krycek pushing CSM down the stairs like a season and a half later. And WTF happened to Spender (CSM's son who was in charge of the X-Files for awhile)? I liked the funny episodes, too--Bad Blood and Small Potatoes are tied for my favorites. Oh, God. Small Potatoes was AMAZING, but I wish I could remember some lines that made it so damn funny. Bad Blood had Luke Wilson as the hot sheriff, and I think that's when my crush on him was born. Uh, and by that I mean Scully's version of him--the one without the buck teeth.

Bad Blood had Mulder reciting the opening to Shaft, which is one of my favorite moments on this show, ever.

FYI, since everyone seems to love Krycheck, I met Nicholas Lea when I was an extra on this show and he was really sweet and not egotistical at all. Someone asked him if he thought of himself as a sex symbol and he seriously looked like he might pass out from embarrassment.
I never liked the Lone Gunmen. There, I said it. They were nerds of the most annoying kind. My sister and I used to call them Icky Frohike, Gangly Langly, and Liar Byers, just because we hated them. Although, I remember being somewhat amused when there was an episode centering around the LG set in 1989 and when a car drove by, you could clearly see it was marked with a much later year on the plate.

And I love the Sims version of the Lone Gunmen: Pascal, Vidcund and Lazlo Curious.

Heh. Not much dirt. I was in a stadium scene and there were a zillion other people there. The most you can see on t.v. is my friend Mike's bright green shirt in the crowd, and I was next to him. We looked like blobs. On my way in the stadium, security made me throw away my water bottle. Maybe they were afraid I'd throw it at David Duchovny, who was pretty unpopular at the time since he'd just made all those comments about how much he hated working in Vancouver. ;D
I didn't talk to anyone one-on-one, but Gillian Anderson was a good sport with all the stupid questions she got asked (some idiot yelled, "Boxers or briefs, Gillian?" and she just said, "Briefs") and David Duchovny was, no surprise, a douchebag who hung around for maybe three minutes all day and then skulked off and never came back.
