Does this mean he's sobered up (somewhat)?

I hope so, Yos. I saw his thread and I scanned up to see if the Recently Deceased was active before opening this thread. I hope he's gotten himself together.

Not dead? That's cold blooded (ymmv). Alcoholics have to find their bottom and JRM hasn't hit his yet.* And with his cash, he probably will avoid hitting his for a while. Either that, or he'll hit it spectacularly with suicide, as he's shown he's prone to attempt. He may need to try some non-ritzy rehabs that offer more "You're a f*cking addict" tough love and less "would you like a massage or a steam treatment, sir?" If someone wants to get sober, they can get sober anywhere, but I just never hear about all the incredible successes of places like Promises. Alcohol was never my particular poison, so I can't say I understand his specific struggle, but I do think he's hella talented and I hope he can move past it. He's had this problem for a looong time so it won't clear up overnight, but the fact that he's still booking jobs despite his alcoholism is a good sign. It means at the very least, he can pull himself together for jobs. Functioning alcoholic? Not awesome, but better than nonfunctioning.
*I speak from the experience of seeing 90% of my family in rehab since the age of 10.

The new Dracula series sounds like an update of Dark Shadows. Nevertheless it sounds like one of the few shows I'd check out.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Needs HelpI am very seriously concerned that he is going to die. Alcoholism is a very scary disease. It's progressive, chronic and fatal.

That is so unbelievably sad. I can't even look at those pictures.

Wow. I feel badly for him. Has he managed to maintain sobriety for any length of time? And I wonder if he wants to get sober. There's a big difference between cleaning up because you spouse/boss/kids are pressuring you about it and actually wanting it for yourself. People who get sober for others tend to relapse more often. I know someone right now who's drinking herself to death (she got back from her latest five month stint in rehab in December) and, although she loves her three young kids, I don't think she really wants to quit. It doesn't look good for her.

Wow. He looks really rough there. I hope he gets some help- and that he wants to get it.
