I always felt that if I was a perfect balance of Jo & Blair, I would be the perfect woman. But alas, I'm more a mixture of Natalie and Blair's cousin Jerry. Speaking of, my friend actually made her boyfriend a t-shirt that says "I'm not drunk, I have cerebral palsy" which he wears to bars sometimes. Note: He is actually just a drunk.

I've been watching the dvd of the first and second season. They cut out half the cast for the second season. They were right to, it works out so much better.

Did anyone else have elaborate fantasy's where they'd be sent away to go live in an all girls boarding school after watching this the first time?

Oh, I did. And then my mother promptly informed as to the realities of boarding school from her own horrible experience, and I changed my mind. I did secretly wish that my school would get uniforms, though. Preferably, something burgundy with a vest and a blue cardigan!
I'm just waiting for them to release the DVD with the Twilight Zone guy. Tootie. Every time I see a thermos I still stay that thing about keeping hot things hot and cold things cold.

That's probably completely inappropriate but I find it very funny. I used to be a mix of Jo and Blair. My father used to call me Jo actually. Looking back, that's probably also not such a good thing. Anyway, being a mix aint' all you'd think it's cracked up to be.

I love the Twilight Zone episode! The way he said Too-Tee is classic. I wish they still showed this on USA. Nick-at-Nite or TVLand needs to look into showing this. Enough Cosby Show and Fresh Prince. I don't have the money to buy the DVD's so I'd even settle with it being shown on In2TV!

That was the best episode. Her paper mache head was hysterical.
Did anyone ever see the special about the Facts of Life? They interviewed the main cast and Kim Fields (Tootie) talked about how they used to bind her breasts to keep them from showing and how Lisa Wenchel (Blair) and Kim talked about how she and Nancy (Jo) gained a whole of bunch of weight in the later seasons and they brought a scale on-set to weigh them to make them loose weigh. I felt so bad for them, especially because at that time Natalie had lost a ton of weight and was the thinnest one on-set and she was supposed to be the fat character.
Also, does anyone remember when the show moved away from school in the later years, what type of store they ran? I thought it was a candy store for a while and then turned into something else.
Lastly, was George Clooney's character, George, Jo or Blair's boyfriend? All I can remember is that he was a handyman who watched out for his brother Andy. I know he wasn't Tootie's boyfriend because Kim Fields said in the reunion special that she always wished George would get choclate love and he never did.
I just rented the DVDs from Netflix. I love Netflix.

I don't think George was anyone's boyfriend, just the handyman. I also don't think he was Andy's brother. Beverly Ann eventually adopted Andy in the last season, I think. The store they had was just a store with random stuff. They sold alot of Langley College things and then random weird things and in the back they had the muffins and cookies.
I always remember the episode where they go on spring break and Jo and Natalie get sunburned from a sunlamp. This is where Michael Damien makes his appearance as the Flyman. For some reason, I like that episode. I also like the serious episode where Natalie loses her virginity to Snake. And all the girls are shocked she could do such a thing.

The store started as "Edna's Edibles," with a whole bunch of gourmet foods, and Mrs. Garrett also ran her catering business from there. After "Edna's Edibles" burned down (wiring, I think), they all chucked in their insurance money and opened "Over Our Heads," which was the random stuff store - since they were all investors, everybody had a say in what was stocked, which lead to the strangest store around.
