Is he gay? He seems to have major intimacy problems with his wife. The last episode I watched he was going to some kind of class every night. She never got to see him. Then they went on a cooking class date and he paid more attention to the chef. He probably isn't gay because his wardobe is god-awful. /joke Poor Hayley. Alone all the time in that big house slowly wasting away to nothing. Her starvation is taking a toll on her face. She looked pretty rough in the episode I saw. My husband and I both get major gay vibes from him too, but you're right about the wardrobe. It's not always an indicator though. At one point in his life, my big gay brother thought it was the height of sophistication to wear overalls and red high-top converse. Hayley is looking rough though. I don't think she and Dr. Rey have the most intimate of relationships and he just gives her all the material goods she wants in order to make up for it. They have zero chemistry. I would rather be dirt poor with a husband I have a close intimate relationship with than have a life like Hayley.

He really, really is, but the thing is, I think that he thinks he's a really nice guy. He seems to just think he's the sweetest, most attentive guy ever, with his "Sweeties" and "beautifuls." Blech. And what is his obsession with making women get ginormous implants? He's always pressuring them to go bigger. It's disturbing.

God this show is just such a trainwreck. Just when you think Hayley can't get any more annoying, she becomes an actress. A horrible, horrible actress. Although now whenever she's onscreen I try to keep myself distracted by trying to see if she has extensions. Her hair looks so thick and bouncy and I wouldn't think someone with an eating disorder could get that naturally.
The new couple we were introduced to in the newest episode also irked me. They're both successful doctors, but the wife still does all the work around the house. The husband didn't even seem remotely interested in the kids or making dinner or anything. Dick. But they made their patient look fan-freaking-tastic. I couldn't believe the difference in her face!
And finally, the "beauty queen" patient who lived in a trailer with her mom but can afford breast implants. When her mom said, "I realized when she was young that she would have an issue with her..." I fully expected the next word out of her mouth to be "underbite." You can make your boobs as big as you want, sweetie, but you're never going to be a model with that jaw.

So my best friend is in Nurse Anesthesist school and she is interning at a well-respected hospital. While they were in surgery the other day, the surgeon told them that he knew Dr. Rey and that he is not board certified! I don't know if this has been discussed, but I was surprised. Also, she said that the ep where he goes to Mexico to do cleft palate surgery was a crock- no respectable Dr. is going to perform that surgery w/out extensive training and the surgeon said that Dr. Rey does not have that training. Interesting.

borokat, I read that as well. It seems Dr. Rey had some rouble with surgery he performed on his own brother, and Brother sued Dr. Rey. I'll try to find out where I read it. Yeah, that's the first thing a potential plastic surgery patient should check on concerning their surgeon: Board Certification. The Evanses, the husband and wife plastic surgeons? The dad really stops work once he gets home, doesn't he? And the mom does practically all the child care and works in their practice. Nice example you're setting for your daughters. /sarcasm

Me again... so in the ep I'm watching tonight, one of the Reys' dogs, the chihuahua named Peanut, passed away at age six pretty much from unknown causes. Hayley is distraught, and when she talks to Robert about it, Robert isn't too terribly comforting. She blows up at him, and for the first time in a long time, I really liked her because it seemed like she was being real and wasn't trying to be a Hollywood wife-y type. Realize that I am a huge animal lover, I'm totally sympathetic to Hayley, and I'd be just as upset if a dear pooch of mine passed away.
Also, Dr. Alter is doing genital reduction surgery on a couple. Yes, both of them. Whee!

He blamed her for the dog's death. He bascially said she didn't love the dog enough (failure to thrive was his words).
Scrotum reduction. Ouchy ouch ouch.
A open casket wake for the dog? They buried the dog in what looked like a giant Big Mac box.

I don't know, my friend's mom is a doctor and she isn't board certified. The main reason is because she was educated in France, and already had to do the residency over again once she came to the U.S. Maybe that's the reason?

(Toph, you watch it too? Hee!} The gravesite scene was very sad. Yep, why would you do that to one's self. The loss of a pet is hard for some so why wake the dog and then watch the dog being buried? OMG, that whole conversation about scrotums, labias and sex with the woman's parents and younger sister was a huge TMI.
