OK, I couldn't take it anymore! I really miss watching MST3K and they never release the ones I like on the official DVD sets. Soooooo, I ordered one of "those" sets from one of "those" sites.
Please don't tell, and I'll let you know if it's worth it.

Most of the episodes are also on YouTube, so while it isn't convenient, it does quench your thirst for those not-on-DVD episodes.
And for the most part, I don't think the folks behind MST3K mind all that much that the non-DVD episodes get "shared" out there on the internet - I've always gotten the impression that they want to release the entire series on DVD, but the people who own the rights to the movies they riff won't let them.

I've been collecting the 'unavailable' ones from one of 'those sites' myself lol Yeah, kostgard, especially with the Sandy Frank movies (the Godzilla flicks, Fugitive Alien). I do support the MST3K guys whenever possible with the official releases. Matter of fact, I bought myself Mitchell for Xmas

I might be misremembering, but I think that before the show's website closed, they allowed fans to discuss sharing videotapes of the shows. The fans self-distributed episodes, and when they started to officially release some of the shows on video, most fans voluntarily stopped copying the episodes that could be commercially purchased.

I'm enjoying Santa Clause right now on You Tube. I like this better than Santa Claus Conquers The Martians so far. In this one Santa is a perv who spies on children and watches their dreams.

I can not believe that nobody's airing re-runs of this series. Maybe they think that would cut into DVD sales? Does anybody know the reason? It just seems insane to me that it's been off the air for so long while so many inferior (well, yeah, that probably includes all of 'em) shows are re-run to friggin' death. It's not possible that Ray Romano is more loved than Joel/Mike and the Bots, is it?

It could be the two-hour format that makes it hard to put it into syndication. There could also be issues with the rights to the movies they savage - I know that is often what holds up the DVDs.

I believe that it's the movie rights thing. That's why during the last couple of years it was on SciFi they only showed the same four or five movies over and over.
You'd think that the whoever owns the rights to those awful movies would be glad to be getting some residuals from them, because nobody's going to see them outside of MST3K.
