"Ben Murphy is assumed into heaven." There is always one moment in an episode that makes me laugh until I can't breathe; that is the one for Riding with Death. It's the way Tom says it so respectfully...

Riding with Death, I love that one! For me, the laugh-till-I-can't-breathe moment is when Ben Murphy turns invisible after the truck chase, and the bad guy goes "This can't beeeeeeeee? Where are yoooooooou?" Just this really goofy line read. Then, of course, Mike and the bots join in with "Oh my Goooooood? You're invisibllllllllllle?"
Oh, and then there's the whole fight between Ben Murphy and his ambiguously gay friend that ends with Crow intoning: "Et tu, Billy Bob."
Also, I love the fact that Robert Denby was one of the many Steves in an earlier MST3K movie, "Night of the Blood Beast." (He shrimped you!)

I just remembered Parts: The Clonus Horror...and the fact that it was remade into a movie starring Ewan McGregor (The Island). I nearly burst a blood vessel when I was reading reviews for The Island because I kept thinking: "Mike and the Bots watched this movie years ago!" Now tell me, who would watch a movie that is so bad that it's been through the MST riffing mill and think "YES! Let's remake this and cast Ewan McGregor! It's sure to be a hit!"
One of the only cool things about my trip up to Minnesota was driving through Hopkins, where the MST3K fanclub is (or was anyway) located.

I remember seeing the trailer for The Island last year and thinking "This looks a lot like Parts: The Clonus Horror" (one of my favorites, as I love the 70s/early 80s movies). Then I went home and looked it up online and found out it was an intentional remake and knew that Hollywood had totally lost it. Then I watched The Clonus Horror again because it's so funny. "C'mon everyone! Let's go film a tampon commercial!"

For a long time, Riding with Death was the only episode I had on tape, so I have it practically memorized. But it never stops being hilarious.
"Is there such a thing as 'starring' Ben Murphy? Isn't it more honest just to say that most of the time the camera is pointed at Ben Murphy?"

I love how Riding with Death just turns into a completely different movie in the second half, too. Suddenly there's no more riding or death!

This thread has inspired me to add a MST3k wav file to my blog[/color]. Also note the blogging of my guilty pleasure.
