Stephan AND all the hate he generates on various message boards never fail to amuse me. I heart Stephan.

We love this show. You know how people wear their personalities on their faces? Well Stephen wears condesending and Tiffany wears hard biache.
I'm enjoying watching the dishes they creat and seeing which tastes better.
But I really enjoy seeing Tiffany or Stephen's face when they lose. It's priceless.
I worked all my life in that biz to pay some bills, and let me tell you, chefs/cooks are a hard bunch to work with. They have issues and egos as much as anyone in Hollywood. But when they are nice and/or funny, you can actually look forward to work.

So excited for tonight's episode. Blind taste-tasting, one of my favorite tests and things to try! Anyone else looking forward to this?

I definitely am! I may have to avert my eyes when Steven tastes anything. I find his mouth oddly unsettling (not in a good way), and I don't think I can handle watching the camera focus on it as he eats...gah!

Stephen's mouth. <twitch> You should read my comments on that earlier in the thread if you haven't already. I'm planning on taping tonight's episode *JUST* so I can continue my analysis of it and freeze-frame various shots.
If I remember the previews correctly, Tiffani has some problems in guessing some of the items. Heeee!
No, I'm not excited out of my mind for the show. Whatever gave you that idea? ;D

Stephen is a dick. "Why are you angry?"
At least the wrong person wasn't sent home. (I'm looking at you, Tyra Banks!) I think Harold and, to a slightly lesser extent, Miguel have the talent that this show is claiming to be looking for. So Lisa was the right choice.

May I add that my irrational love for Dave was validated, at least for a moment, last night? *Sigh* Just love him.
Miguel is slowly wearing out all the goodwill I feel for him—something about him seems pathetically whiny.

I'm getting a bit tired of some of these chefs thinking that it's their mission to educate people and their palates. Not only is it condescending and arrogant, but it's also foolish in terms of winning the challenge. First, Tiffany and the children, then Stephen with his whole banana leaf whatever to the Junior League women, and last night Harold with educating Mission-people about different tastes. There is an element of "I know better and I'll educate you uninformed, unsophisticated slobs about what you'll really like. Because I know your tastes better than you do."
Maybe I'm just sensitive to that because I've known a few people who were always convinced they knew my tastes and opinions better than I did, and that my stance stemmed out of ignorance, not personal choice.
Either way, I would think it's self-evident that, when you're in a competition, you pay attention to what the requirements and objective are. Give the Junior Leaguers something they can prepare themselves (which doesn't include unpronounceable SE Asian spices they won't be able to find), or prepare a kid's meal for like.. you know... KIDS. Even if you think you're above it, at the end of the day, you're in a competition to win, so just do it. Gah.
