This was a tough one. I think Sheldon buckled under the pressure of the other chefs rushing him. And I think Stefan (sp?) really evolved into a nicer guy, I didn't want to see either of them go. And I WANT to go on that cruise, omg. That food! Lastly, thanks to Padma, for letting me know I can never rock a leather dress.

I'm getting a bit tired of the constant Padma tongue bathing. We get it. She's hot. The fact that they constantly feature the contestants talking about it makes me suspicious that the producers encourage them to do so. It also doesn't help that whenever another pretty woman comes on to the show she seems to have it out for them (Kristen anyone?).

You mean the contestants? I didn't catch any of them talking about Padma last night. I think the guys talk about her b/c they talk about attractive women in general (Brooke, Kristen et al.). Brooke & Kristen are relegated to pants and chefs' jackets, so they go for the model who's always gussied up.

I think Padma was full of shit when it came to Kristen, but I don't think she necessarily had it out for her because Kristen's pretty. Brooke's also pretty and Padma hasn't attacked her in nearly the same way IIRC. If jealousy played any role in Padma's behavior, I'd wager it has more to do with how Kristen was pretty much dominating the competition up until then. Padma is so unqualified compared to the other judges - can we trade her for Gail? - that I could see her being insecure about seeing this young newbie kicking ass and taking names. Kristen's more qualified to judge food than Padma is, lol.

It's frequently the contestants, but I should have clarified, it's also in the cinematography. I don't know if you watched the episode "Jalapeno Business," but the slow motion shots of Padma roller skating in skintight jeans was worthy of a Michael Bay film. The show goes out of its way to pump up the Padma sex symbol aspect, which gets annoying after a while.

She's clearly the eye candy of the show. I mean, she's a model and so she's traveled the world and eaten a lot of food and seems like a real foodie, but they clearly wanted someone to balance out Colicchio during those first seasons. Then the audience liked her and she became more of a presence (imo). I barely register her comments at judges' table but I often find myself wondering what designer she's wearing (probably the point of it all).
ETA: Last I checked on the save a chef votes, CJ had 94% and Josie had 6%, which made me laugh.

The best thing I can say about Padma is that she's way better at hosting Top Chef than Katie Lee Joel was. The thing is she is a real foodie- she wrote cookbooks way before she hosted Top Chef, it's not like she was only picked for her looks. She doesn't come across that great on camera (personality wise).
There hasn't been nearly enough Gail this season. Gail is my favorite! Although Hugh is pretty great and is a close second.
I'm really excited for these last few episodes. I'm not a huge fan of Josh, so he can go home next, but then anyone else who wins is great.
