I initially began watching Top Chef 2 a few episodes in and I've never understood why everyone hated Marcel. Yeah, he's a bit pompous but many chefs are and he seemed pretty harmless. Betty on the other hand has come across in turns as a whiny, vindictive, clueless (I didn't know I was cheating) shrew. I hope she goes home after a humiliating defeat. Preferably when Marcel wins a challenge.

I liked Betty at first, but now she's just obnoxious. Her reactions to everything are so shrill and over-the-top. The sooner she's gone, the better.

That is my fondest wish for this show - to have Marcel win a challenge and have Betty wind up going home all in the same episode. Her fucking head would explode!

Maybe they'll keep Betty around a little longer since she is always good for some drama, but I can't see her winning the Top Chef position. She is too strident and nasty in her dealings with the others. It's amazing to see how domineering she is - she refuses to listen to anyone else, she shoots down everyone's ideas and only wants her own suggestions to be followed.

My fondest wish was to have Tony Bourdain be the guest judge to vote Betty off, but since that didn't happen, I'll seccond India's.

I don't understand the hate for Marcel, either. So he's pompous and obnoxious, who cares. Haven't these chefs ever worked around WAITERS?? Marcel is a breath of fresh air compared to a room full of pissy waiters.

I hate Marcel because he has large, poofy, pompadoured hair (step away from the product!) and stupid facial hair that he obviously spends far too much time grooming into that odd shape every morning.

It's a reality show; there's no rule that I have to be logical in my hate.

Betty needs to shut up. Now.

ITA Clementine74, I am convinced she secretly wants to have hot naughty sex with Marcel, but clearly can't, so she is expressing her frustration in another way. Hee!!!
I can't get on the Marcel hate train either and I don't understand it, maybe he is pompous but he does has some skills and they have never shown an incident which would cause someone to have such blinding hate for him.

As far as Frank's behaviour, that was totally uncalled for, if you didn't want someone messing with your stuff, you shouldn't have kept it chillin beside the kitchen sink, in plain view of everybody.

Betty, is coo coo for cocoa puffs!!! I think she is the most fake out of the bunch and would have no trouble putting the other contestants out in front of the bus. If something goes wrong, she is very quick to blame others.Small point, but I can't stand the way she dresses and in general she bugs.

My favorites are still Ilan, Cliff and Sam. I would be happy if any one of them win.

According to the Top Chef 2: They Cook. We Dish. blog, Marcel doesn't use any product in his hair! I'm dumbfounded. Heh.

Also, in this interview with Blogging Top Chef They Cook...We Roast he says he repeatedly asked to cut his hair when it got outta control, but the producers wouldn't let him (in order to preserve 'continuity').
