I wish they'd show a Season 1 marathon for those of us who missed it. I'd love to have a basis of comparison. India, they are showing a repeat of all of Season 1 (except the reunion) on Wed, Dec. 27th, starting at 1 pm eastern, but check your local listings to be sure. They've never repeated the reunion except for immediately after the original airing. I'm not sure why. I know! I'm so excited, but unfortunately, I have to miss most of it since I have to work tomorrow. I can get home by 5:30 or 6 PM and catch the rest of it, so at least that's something. And yes, I'm lame - I currently don't have a VCR or Tivo to tape the parts I'll miss. It would be perfect if they were running it on Friday, because our office manager just made the decision to close the office - we were going to have a half day and close at 1 PM, but now we're completely off. Oh, well!

Yup, I know - but I'm stuck here at work. I'll have to miss a good chunk of it!

(Maybe one day those monkeys at Bravo will release the DVD!) I'm watching it now. Sigh, those were the good old days. I just like the first season guys better, even when they're acting pissy. Since I came home from work, I've only heard the phrase 'thrown under the bus' once. They liked 'in the weeds' and 'getting hosed' a little better.

Aw. Me, too. (Though I still can't stand meatball-head Tiffani.) I just lurve Harold and Dave and, yes, even Stephen who is the only reality show contestant I've ever changed my mind about disliking. I thought he was awesome on the reunion show (which is apparently not being repeated during this marathon) and the finale.
ETA: And I still want Harold and LeeAnn to get married!

On another note, Tom's opening a new branch of his restaurant, Craft, here in LA. I seriously cannot wait. We've been to Craft here, it's good if you like entrees either braised or roasted and won't be sad at the lack of sauces. The side dishes are terrific (the entire menu is a la carte), especially the mushrooms. A bit pricey, though. We like his Gramercy Tavern better. More variety, amazing cheese selection, and the food is less salty than at Craft.

OMG OMG OMG!!! That was awesome! Even though I didn't get to see all of it, I just have to say - I love Dave SO MUCH! I was cracking up everytime he'd cry - I mean, I just found it so endearing in a hilarious way. The minute I'd see his face go all red and see his eyes fill up, I'd start laughing. The part when Miguel and Tiffani were going at it in the back, and Dave's just SOBBING into his glass of wine? I thought I was going to die laughing. He's my newest beloved reality TV gay boyfriend, second only to Carson!
No reunion? Man, when they showed the "previouslies", it looked like they were throwin' down! What's the scoop?
Actually, in addition to the episodes I missed from 1 PM till 5:30 when I got home (saw Lisa getting the boot), I did miss the very last finale episode, from 11:00 PM to midnight. I get so tired around 11:00, and I fell asleep during the episode where my Davey Baby gets the boot - I remember he screwed up and only made two dishes, and then I fell asleep. When I woke up, he was hugging everyone goodbye. I was just too tired to stay awake - I knew Harold won, and maybe I'll eventually get to see it at some point if they put it out on DVD.
I did hate Tiffani, but boy she's a subtle bully. I really hated Miguel! Oh, man, did he get on my last nerve with every thing he did! Loved Harold and Lee Anne too! And Stephen was just about as hilarious as it gets! Between Stephen and my new gay boyfriend Dave, I was practically peeing myself!

After rewatching the first part of the finale, I still dont' understand Tom telling Dave he was the favorite of the Napa chefs. For the most part, they were all "Pepper Monkey!" about his dish and their on-camera reactions to his food completely contradicted Tom's claims they "loved" his dish.
I still think Leeann was offered up as a sacrifice to the gods of reality TV drama, but yet, I still find the first season far better than the second.

After seeing some of season 1 again, I thought that Dave was a big crybaby who seldom appeared without a drink in his hand. I think Leeanne should have been in the final three instead of Dave. She was far more professional and emotionally stable.
I remember the first time I saw the episode where Steve and Dave showed up drunk when they were supposed to help Tiffani. I thought it was a huge no-no when Dave put the glass on the ledge over the food. Seeing that again and seeing Dave making faces at Tiffani when she made the very reasonable request to keep the glass off the line made me realize that Dave could be a real jerk.
Imagine working with someone who was always in tears, feeling sorry for themselves at every turn - I think that would get old very quickly.
