He looked really good at the Hollywoodland Premiere. I saw pictures of Jennifer, but I didn't see any of them together. It's kind of sad that he feels so burnt by the whole Bennifer thing that he can't walk the red carpet with his wife.

Well, he did contribute his half to the whole nightmare, so it's his own fault. He WAS all over JHo in her music video, and that was just as famewhorish as she was during that time period. That said, it's good to see him cleaned up.

Oh, I totally agree. In fact, I feel like sometimes JHo gets most of the blame, as though she dragged him to all these events when he obviously loved the attention.

That clip is appalling. No matter how much he was drinking, that interview reveals a Gibson-level misogynist. His aw-shucks interviews and jokes about his failed films and tabloid reputation reek of desperation. And I totally feel that his camp blame his career slump on Jennifer Lopez. If his career continues to dive, I can't say I would care. He is sort of bland on screen. There is nothing he does on screen that 50 other actors in his age group could not do as well if not better.

In his review of Hollywoodland this morning on NPR, Kenneth Turan said that Affleck's performance was the best thing about the movie. And he didn't say that the movie sucked outright, either.

Ol' Ben (aka "Meh-Boy") is going to have to work a lot harder to make me want to plunk down $8.50 (or even $4.99).

Ben seemed a bit reserved with Jay Leno a couple nights ago, at least at first. Maybe he was nervous with how his campaign to repair his image is going. He seemed to loosen up when James Carville came on and at Jay's urging did his imitation of Carville.

I like Ben most of the time (well not during the Bennifer I debacle, but who did); he does seem like that guy in college who was cool most of the time, but then when his friends were around or when he wanted to shock you, broke out his jerk side.

So far all the reviews I've seen of Hollywoodland have liked his performance.

I completely agree. I think it's all still there under the surface. He and JLo share the responsibility 50/50. He's not stupid enough to realize he has to play the reformed family man and he'd better not blow what might be his last chance, but I wouldn't be surprised if the old Ben makes an appearance sometime in the future.

I've watched that show, and I don't think it's a big deal. She and Ben would always flirt whenever he was on. He was just teasing her and she didn't seem to mind at all.

He has always seemed like a belligerent alcoholic to me. Sure, he can be funny, smart, and sweet, but there's an underlying anger there.

I was just going to post that. It was a sort of game they played together. I hardly think she was offended by what he did in that interview. She hosts a sex show here where she dresses as a french maid and gets another girl to spank her (or is it the other way around). Anyway, I did see another interview though where Ben started his whole act again, kissing her and fondling her (looking more drunk than he did in that clip) and she did seem to get kind of tired of it after a while.
