He has always seemed like a belligerent alcoholic to me. Sure, he can be funny, smart, and sweet, but there's an underlying anger there. I have always thought that it had to do with him having an absentee, alcoholic father.

A lot of male actors seem to have tales of woe regarding their fathers.
Funny that.

THANK GOD, because it's about time this poor sap came out of the black HoHo cloud.

He was a mess in that clip. And yet, I'd still hit it.

Whoa, Affleck! He has just been named Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival. I knew there was some talk he might get Oscar sympathy if he managed a bit of a comeback with Hollywoodland, but I didn't expect a film festival to award him. The other acting winner is Helen Mirren, so he's in good company.

Sigh. Me too. I should be ashamed, but naaah.
I've always really liked him for some reason. I'm glad he's getting recognition for "Hollywoodland."

His best asset is his height.
Any actor six feet and over (with the exception of John C. Reilly and Vince Vaughn) gets my attention.

I'm thrilled Ben got an award for this role. I've always liked his acting, just not the scripts he picked. And Ben seems to have been really touched by playing George Reeves. There was a great interview with him on A&E a couple days ago that showed how seriously he took this part.

Damn Ben. Good for him.
I've actually read a few reviews that said they wanted more of Affleck/Reeve's story because he was so engaging. When was the last time people wanted to see more of Affleck in a film?
