I'm going to give him a pass because:
1. The interviewer could have told him to "cut the shit " and sit down and don't touch .
2. He was bombed on the sauce most of that time just during and after J-HO .
I think he's grown up alot with Jenn & Violet .

That kid is cute and Ben looks really happy with lil'Violet. And if Angelina can become a saint after her "wild" phase then I believe Ben can do it too :-) Hehe, Ben, Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Wahlberg and I can't remember who else has acted assholish during their 20s will always be given a pass from the public for their.big.transformation because they are men. I am no Julia Roberts fan, but I haven't heard a single episode of her being nasty to others in these last years and yet, her past will always catch up with her because she is a woman and she's not allowed to grow up and change.I mean, Julia may still be a beyotch to boot, but most comments I read are more quick to assume that Ben has changed completely ever since he settled down and had a baby but Julia can't. I don't remember them being that differeny before. A Low Vera, anyone? |

I think that people are willing to say of men that they're sowing their wild oats whereas women don't get cut that slack. That said, I think it's how they sowed them. Cheating with a married man and insulting his wife bugs people in a different way than a single guy who ran around with strippers does.

But, the reason female celebrities are marketed as "girl-next-doors" is to seem less threatening to other women/men. Male celebrities can get away with being drunk whores, because female fans will still drool over them and flock to their movies. Female celebrities don't have that luxury. Just look at the difference in comments on the female celebrity threads vs. the male celebrity threads. There's a reason that Angelina and Jen's threads got shut down way before Brad's did.
