After watching this for awhile, I think this country needs to learn averages and odds.
The woman tonight is a teacher and doesn't know this!!

Some people just deserve to lose. I saw this show before, my kids were actually screaming at the TV. Where do they get these contestants?

What is this show about? I've heard of it but have no idea what happens on it and I don't have a TV to watch it on.

How did she screw up?

Mrpancake, from what I understand, there are 25 suitcases containing anywhere from 1 cent to $1 million, you pick one as your own then have to pick off the remaining ones, hoping to prove you have $1million in your case. Along the way, you get offers to buy back your case and it's a test of just how lucky and greedy you are. It's funny but 22 is my lucky number (my birthday, hubby's birthday and our anniversary all =22nd of the month) and just now, that was the case with the $1million. I need to be on this show. You can play it online here

It is a show which is purely based on luck and requires no skill at all, which is why I like to veg out and watch it.
It's amazing to me how greedy these people are. None of them have much money, they always seem to be construction workers or teachers or whatnot, and yet they constantly turn down deals for, like, $95,000 because they're always so sure their case contains the big million. Fools!
I felt very, very bad for that family that was on this week, with the two young children. They wanted to go on a family vacation and the children were begging their father to take a deal for about $65,000, but their greedy mother kept screaming, "No deal! No deal! No deal!" So her spineless husband kept playing and ended up with $300. The kids were so disappointed, and their stupid parents kept saying, weakly, "Oh, well, it doesn't matter, kids." Bullshit! If I was one of those kids, I wouldn't speak to my greedy-ass parents for a week!
Edited because Oxyniaexplained the game rules better and also took up much less space whilst doing so.

Her reasoning why she quit. One should only accept an offer that is equal or greater than the average of all the remaining money left on the board.
But taking in account that the money she made was twice her salary, I could see why.

Mr. and I have watched this a couple times. We saw 2 people in a row with $5 in their case play until the end. One guy passed up something like $170,000 and ended up with $8. It was pathetic.
It did annoy me when Howie told a contestant that she had a "good" chance of a big amount, but it was only 1 in 5 or 1 in 6.

I like it when the contestant tries to hug Howie. He always looks like he wants to die.

But taking in account that the money she made was twice her salary, I could see why. That doesn't sound too too boneheaded compared to some contestants, like the ones who pass on 100K even when they have a forty percent chance of ending up with one dollar or less.
