I love you! I mean, seriously - if you were here, I'd take you to lunch and buy you presents and lots of other shiny things!

That is one of my favorite clips EVAH! I saw that live back when it actually aired, and I've been searching for a clip of it online ever since I first got on the internet back in '97. About four years ago, I was describing it to my then-high school aged niece and nephew after we all watched Back to the Future - they were fascinated! I promised them that I'd try to find a clip of it on the internet, and never could. The best I could send them was screen caps of the interview and my best Crispin Glover imitation!

YouTube left out my favorite part, though: Immediately after he kicked at Letterman's head, they went cut to commercial so fast that if you blinked, you'd miss it. Just BAM! - toilet bowl cleaner! They come back, and Letterman's sitting at his desk laughing, Crispin Glover is no where in sight, and Letterman says, "Well, Crispin had to leave us. He had to get going - you know how that midtown traffic can be!"

The Crispin Glover clip reminds me of another one: Harvey Pekar's notorious 1988 appearance. This is the clip they didn't show in American Splendor.
