I was inspired to start a thread when I ran across something I never thought I'd see, a clip from the first episode of Chevy Chase's notorious failure of a talk show. I've never seen anything so akward. TVland has does "shocking" and "memorable" moments, but I don't think they've done "terrible" and I don't think VH1 has either. Can anyone recall some individual moments as godawful as that Chevy/Goldie moment (and perhaps provide clips)?

When Geraldo opened Al Capone's vault, it was bad. Just because there was nothing there. Only time in my life I've felt bad for Geraldo.

I remember watching a music awards show...not sure if it was the Grammies or AMA's, but Lou Rawls was singing "You'll never find" and he started having a coughing spell in the middle of the song. It went on for a bit. Was pretty funny and a spectaculary bad tv moment. Another one was OJ Simpson being found not guilty. And on a personal note, I forgot his first name, but last name Norwood, missing a field goal for my beloved Bills and losing the Superbowl.

Oooh The Grammy's have had a lot. My favorite is "Wu Tang iz for da chirren." Oh ODB, life is a little less fun without you.

Oh, I remember one award show -- I think it was the Academy Awards or the Grammy Awards -- where Faith Hill was performing, and she was spectacularly off-key. I don't like her, so I chortled, but it was still painful to watch.

The 1998 Grammy Awards where Paula Cole sported massively hairy armpits. I think it was the same year as ODB interrupting Shawn Colvin and the Soy Bomb guy jumping on stage with Bob Dylan.

I was just going to mention Soy Bomb. It was the only time I've ever watched the Grammys and that's what I saw. The look on Dylan's face was priceless.

Oh, for bad awards show moments, nothing beats Rob Lowe singing with Snow White at the Oscars. Nothing. I think they sang "Proud Mary".
Jay Leno picking up and then dropping Winona Judd on The Tonight Show was something that seemed to unfold in slow motion. Jay... noooo... no, Jay... oh noooo....
