I already voiced my opinion about it in the Unpopular TV Opinions thread. I saw the DVD preview of the pilot from Netflix. I didn't like it. Granted, I'll say right now that I attempted to watch one episode of West Wing and was bored out of my mind (and this was back in the first season, early on) so maybe I'm just not a Sorkin fan.
I found Matthew Perry to be twitchy and annoying. Chandler Bing II--and I don't mind Matthew Perry as a person or even Chandler as a character. I just don't feel like watching him in an hour dramedy.
I couldn't stand Amanda Peet. I thought she was horribly cast in the role that she was given. It seemed sort of self-important and overly self-aware to me. It wasn't all that interesting or all that funny. I might give one more episode a try because I know that sometimes the pilot alone isn't enough. There's an awful lot to set up so you can't always get the feel of the show until episode two or three.
So I didn't like it. But I predicted that will be an unpopular opinion in the TV world.

Hmmm I loved the pilot. Thought it was really good. Granted there was a lot being set up and the pace was a bit forced. But I really liked it, thought it was funny and had great potential. It's on my short list of shows I'm looking forward too.

Is it a lot like the West Wing in terms of pacing and dialogue? I couldn't watch WW because of either of those things. I'll give this a try, since I'm way more interested in showbiz than I am in politics (and I like Matthew Perry and Nate Nathan Corddry) but since hearing that Amanda Peet was playing a studio boss I've been a little skeptical.

I enjoyed WW the first two seasons, and then it got way too preachy (even more than usual, IMO) and I lost interest. I like Sorkin's dialogue, but there are a lot of times I wish he'd write less so the characters didn't have to talk at warp speed just to get all that exposition in. So I'm curious to see if this show will be at the same frentic pace as Sports Night and West Wing were at times.

I've heard the pilot wasn't received very well, but that many critics think the show has potential. Whether or not it lives up to the potential is another thing altogether. I am going to watch it, just because I've read so much about it. I saw a commercial from the show, featuring someone saying "Welcome to Pimp my Trike," as one of the SNL show skits. That alone made me not want to watch it... but I'll try.
I watched WW for a few seasons, and then I lost interest. I think the show was so full of itself and how "smart" it was. It became a contest for who could speak their lines the fastest.

I watched it last night and thought it was pretty good. However, for those watching tonight can someone explain what the hell is wrong with Steven Weber's face? And don't hurt me but I found Matthew Perry kinda sexy...

I'll admit to being a Sorkin fan. I love Sports Night and early The West Wing. The American President is one of my favorite movies. I'll definitely be watching Studio 60 when it premieres tonight.
I haven't paid attention to any of the hype or reviews. I'm not going in thinking this will be the Greatest Show Ever. I'll be watching mostly because I enjoy Sorkin's work, and I like Bradley Whitford.
So... when will Josh Malina show up?

I liked it too and see it having great potential. I was taken aback by how much Matthew Perry has aged though. Smoking obviously has taken its toll on his skin.
