Who is Carly Patterson? Never heard of her. She won a gold medal in gymnastics at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She is immensely irritating and I am also glad that she apparently has gained 30 pounds since then. I love this show. I've actually heard of all the celebrities (save for Chris Jericho, I'm glad he's gone) and the singers. And maybe American Idol has made me unable to recognize good singing but I thought they all (with the exceptions of Cheech Marin, Patterson, & Jericho) did really well. I was shocked by Lucy Lawless and Leah Thompson, but mainly by Hal Sparks. And someday there WILL be the Carlton Dance. There HAS to be.

I completely forgot this show was on last night. Was it on during Big Brother?
And I, too, request Alfonso do the Carlton dance as he sings "It's Not Unusual." I loved it when he did that on Fresh Prince! Can't Tom Jones be on the show with him?!

Oh. My. God.
We have got to be able to appeal to a high power to MAKE THAT HAPPEN. Carlton Dance, Carlton Dance.....
Is it just me or does Little Richard do a better Paula than Paula herself?

I loved this show. It was incredibly entertaining. A very creative idea by Simon Cowell. It is not the type of reality show I thought I would like, but I was surprised how great it was. Apparently the ratings were sky high. I wasn't so sure about Little Richard as a judge as he seems weird and a bit senile, but he ended up being really funny and entertaining.
The host, Wayne Brady seems a bit bland. I have seen his work in his other shows in the past and he seemed to have much more personality. He just seems so neutered on this show, although I guess that is the nature of hosting a show like this where the focus is not on him.
I am a bit embarassed for the professional singers on that show because most of them are cementing their B-list status by being on a show like that. However, it is a way to promote their new cds, so I guess it benefits them in the end. Singers lilke Peter Frampton and Michael Bolton (whose latest cd of Sinatra covers did not do well on the charts) don't have a lot of avenues through which to promote their music.

A while back it was reported that Carly Patterson signed a record contract with Joe Simpson, Jessica and Ashlie's daddy. So check out this article. They have definitely been spending way too much time around Joe Simpson.

I'm watching this right now. Oh, the humanity. Lucy Lawless looks good. That's all I'll say.

I'd watch, but I've already subjected my better half to Rockstar: Supernova this summer and he has a strict limit of one bad cover cheesefest per year. I've always had kind of a thing for Hal Sparks. Is he decent?

He's decent I suppose, his range is somewhat limited though. He sings in the style of heavy metal ballads. Very loud and very melodramatic. He's funny though and he actually takes it seriously which is kinda sweet.
I'm pissed Leah Thompson is gone, I actuallly liked her singing.
