I just found out Belinda Carlisle was on (one of my favorite 80s singers.) On these type of shows, I want to watch more out of seeing old favorites than the gimmick of a personality/celebrity with a professional singer.
Are there any more videos on Youtube of the other performers?

If they pair Carly Patterson and Wynonna Judd together next week I'm not sure if we'll able to tell which is which...

If Hal Sparks had been eliminated instead of Carly, I was going to have to cut someone. I also want to call bullshit on Xena having the most votes this week, because I don't think she was that good.

I don't get it either. I don't think Lucy Lawless is a good singer but at TWoP everyone raves about how good she is.
How reliable is the thing that she "studied opera"? That keeps getting repeated but she doesn't have a voice anywhere near opera standards, so I'm wondering if that's a fib because she took "Opera and Classical Music 101" in school or something.

Me three! I think Xena sounds just awwwful, every time. I feel bad for the gymnast girl. She really has gotten way better since the beginning. I guess being saddled with that little McCartney person didn't help. I am shamelessly enjoying Carlton's performances.

Well, it's like a train wreck. Everyone loves to see has-been celenrities make fools of themselves. Lucy Lawless is TERRIBLE. She is one of those people who you know THINKS she can sing; probably when she was little she sang something from "Annie", and her parents and family members clapped like seals and told her she should be on Broadway. I can't tolerate anyone on this show. In related news, what in the HELL happened to Dionne Warwick's voice?

I tuned in for the first time last night and I was amazed to see Marie Osmond being so critical and actually bordering on nasty. Someone evidently convinced her that she is an expert on singing when her own career was based mainly on being"cute" and being the novelty in a family of boys. Maybe it's just me but I thought she came across as being mean and perhaps a little jealous. Even when she started off saying something nice she punctuated it with something not so nice. I haven't seen her on any of the other shows so I was wondering whether this was just a bad night or does she always seem to rain on the so-called contestants parade.

Actually, Marie had (perhaps still has) quite a good voice. For a time she was the Osmond with a career (singing soft country hits). She had a #1 country hit when she was what, 12? And I think she still had success as a country artist into the 80's. She's not my cup of tea, but I do trust her to know her stuff as a vocalist. "Paper Roses" is a schmaltzy song, but it does have kind of an old country ballad feel to it and she had very good technique and range for such a little girl. She was the squeaky clean Tanya Tucker or Leann Rmes of her time.

I haven't seen much of the show but I did see something on one of those infotainment shows about how Simon was surprised that she's not all sweetness because he thought of her from her "Donny & Marie" days. The parts I've seen I've been glad she hasn't heaped on undeserved praise (see Abdul, Paula).
