No thread for this? Wow! What the hell with Beyonce's performance? Justin was good. Christina Aguilera's performance was off the hook! She amazed me. I was very pleased to see Hype Williams get that Vanguard award. It was about time and seriously long overdue. I like Jack Black but I was expecting him to be a lot funnier. He seemed very restrained. Was it just me or did you all notice that Missy's car stopped working and Timberland had to push her along during their performance...and they were both laughing and when she got to the end she was like "Hell, now I can't even get out this damn thing.." Heh! Well not quite as exciting as a "wardrobe malfunction" but still kind of funny. And Jennifer Lopez in her "outer space chemotherapy hooker." outfit.. (TM bunny). Heh! The Britney/KFed skit. Woah! And at the beginning of the show when they announce which stars are going to be on did you notice they annouced KFed. I was like "WTF!!!!" His overnight celebrity strategy seems to be paying off.... Also why couldn't Britney and Federshizzle attend..what are they so busy doing - making video skits for award shows that they "can't attend"? Or didn't KFed want to be compared to Justin. As if. Not in the same league at all, buddy... Anyways put down your VMA commentaries here. ETA I wish Paris Hilton had performed. That would have been a hoot...Federshizzle watch out! Paris could turn in a even worse performance than yours bro.

I know it sucks worse and worse every year, but I keep perservering and watch it .... admittedly mainly for the suck and to see just how bad they can it to suck this time. But there is no random dissing of Moby or backstage fighting anymore to help liven up an otherwise dull show that goes on way too long.....it hardly seems worth it.

I loved OK Go's performance but that was the only thing that entertained me through the entire night. I love Christina but "Hurt" is a terrible choice for a single and I don't really like ballads sung at an awards show like this.

I hate to say I'm too old for this but when the Video Of The Year goes to 14 year old boys who play dress up I have to say it.

I'm just watching this crap now, and I have to ask, when did running on a treadmill become entertainment? I think I've grown out of their "target audience" and I'm just barely in my mid-twenties. I was going to comment on something else when I opened this thread but I already forgot what it was. It's that boring. ETA: Yay! I remembered! What does anything the Jackass guys did have to do with video of the year? Just an excuse to put some dumbasses on TV? I thought their show was cancelled anyway, but I did hear something about "Jackass 2."

Yeah I wondered that myself and concluded they must be best pals of Jack Black's and he snuck them on the show. We saw entirely far too much of them.
Oh and did anyone notice some guy bumrushed the Best Video Award and started talking about his website. Do have like NO security. How did that man get on stage, get handed and mic and start talking? Jlo and the guys who won were just standing there looking WTF? does this guy belong here? wtf?.....the man left of his own accord but hey...shows you how cheap that show is........meanwhile Mos Def is arrested outside........I'm 23 and I'm thinking, man this is so tired...but to be honest the VMAs seemed too long and mostly boring when I was 13, so..........
They need to make ALL these awards shows shorter. I guess they are all such big productions with so many categories that it's impossible. The Oscars, The Emmys, Grammys, VMAs, WMAs.......people don't watch them in the same numbers they used to.....I predict these shows are going to fade out in the coming years or have to do a drastic 180 on how they are formatted and presented.

On today's re-broadcast of the VMAs I didn't see Bint and KFed's lame skit. Jack Black introduced the skit but it went directly to voiceover guy saying, "And the nominee's for RnB video of the year..." played clips of the videos and then showed Brit and Kevin saying, "The winner is... blah blah blah." That was it. Interesting. And funny.

Why was Sarah Silverman there? And why did Snoop Dogg look like he had smelt something bad when the Pussycat Dolls won best dance video for a song he collaborated with them on? In fact everybody went a bit quiet when they came on stage to accept...Wyclef looked like he wanted to roll his eyes...maybe I'm just seeing thng that just are there Try the MTV website to view Britney and Feds skit if you wnat to watch it. Wonder why it has now been cut from the TV broadcast...heh!!

Sarah Silverman seemed a little out of place too. I normally find her amazingly unfunny but since she ripped on Paris (even if it was a dumb "fat" joke) I tolerated her.
Actually, one part was kind of funny, especially when she said in a very disgusted voice, "I can't even see the bones in your back! Eww!" Or something like that.
Hopez's "masterpeach" comment was stupid, as was Axl Rose's appearance and screaming. He said he didn't think he was much of a presenter. He is correct.
