I'm also one who gave up on this show awhile back. I do think they should wrap things up for those who have stuck with it.

This series was just...crippled. I'm glad at least the actors can move on now.

Especially Zachary Quinto. I think he has a bright future ahead of him, and now that he doesn't have this obligation anymore he can do more.

Finally. Remember how after season 1 critics were comparing Heroes to Lost and saying how Heroes did a better job at handling complex plot lines and actually answering questions? That was a long time ago.

I have continued to watch, but I'm not really sorry it's done. They'd have moments of decency and then fall apart again. I'm fine with them not even doing a final movie to wrap things up; I don't trust them to do a good job with it!

I could've sworn this show was canceled last season.
Years from now, TV and media classes will use "Heroes" as an example of what not to do with a TV show. The drop in quality, from EPIC to FAIL, from Season 1 to Season 2 was astonishing. We'll be telling our grandkids about this someday.... "And then they just kept time traveling, and there were new heroes and conspiracies to keep track of ever single week, and there were those episodes set in New Orleans for no particular reason."

One of the bloggers at EW said this: I totally agree with that. For me, it started sucking in that first season finale. And while the first season was very good I don't think it was a masterpiece of television. So for me, it's downfall was less of shock.

I loved season 1 when I first saw it but in retrospect it had it's problems too. Like Future!Hiro obviously knew Claire's name but when Future!Hiro warned Peter he said "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World". Nice catchphrase and good marketing strategy for the show, but makes absolutely no sense when you think about it.
But the novelty of the topics and the enjoyment of learning about these new characters and what they could do made up for any plot holes for me. It's a shame.

Does anyone remember if the writing staff changed after the strike? I remember thinking that was why things took a turn, but now I'm not sure if there was ever a long-term vision for the characters. Not that matters now...
