Incidentally, OH MY GOD. The ending scene freaked me right the hell out. That was just...ew.

That was very icky. It reminded me of that Alice in Wonderland themed Tom Petty video. But with a grosser cake.

Probably my favorite new show of the season. I simply cannot get over how cool this is.
I'm going to adopt Hiro. I don't know how or when, but I will.
One small note of nitpicking about the underlying theory: the glaring big discrepancy regarding the timing of the development of these powers. They act as though most of these powers suddenly clicked into place, like the policeman who only now started to hear people's thoughts. But, if the abilities stem from a genetic mutation, the policeman should have had that ability since his earliest conscious memory. None of this would be a new thing to them.
But that's mere nitpicking. This show is simply fantastic. It even ties with my beloved "4400" and, coming from me, that's extremely high praise indeed.
It's very disorienting to see "Steve Carrington" play another bad guy, more than 20 years later and with almost nary a whisper inbetween.

Not all genetic mutations are evident from birth. There are theories that the mutations will manifest when they are triggered by something.
That scene at the end...ew! Waking up during your own autopsy!

Every week I think it's not possible for them to have something even more gross happen to Claire...and every week the show wins. That was nauseating! And yet, oh so awesome!
I'm horrible with names on this show, but: Emo-Flying-Guy? Hot. Emo-Flying-Guy-In-The-Rain-Punching-Out-His-Brother? Hotter.
Also, I really hope Ali Larter's character isn't that important to the plot, because I tend to space out during her painfully boring scenes.

I love that Hiro convinced his friend to go with him. They are adorable together. (Of course, this probably means something terrible will happen to him.)

This is definitely my favorite new show.
I couldn't believe the gruesomeness of the final scene! Does that mean everyone thinks she's dead?
I am still not sure about Ali Larter's character. Her mother-in-law did make that "being in two places at once" comment. It could turn out to be cool. I think her kid will play a role in her discovering what she's meant to do. I think it's been set up that he is so much of a genius, that he would understand. In fact, I think once all the "heroes" get together, assuming that will happen, Micah may be able to translate or understand all of the code that Mohinder and his perky gal pal were trying to figure out.
Also, the man pretty factor is delightful!

Hated Internet Porn Grandma. Thought she was very snippy and rude. I bet all parents of inmates think their kids are innocent, but that's just not statistically possible. But it was also rude of PornMom to show up there and then say "stay out of Micah's life" - um, you brought him there! Definitely something creepy about Grandma. And yikes - cops on the mob guy's payroll is not a good sign.
Poor Matt - I knew he was going to get nabbed by the government or Glasses Guy somehow!
I still think Mohinder's neighbor is working for Sylar. If he's in LA, how would he have known to clean out the apartment unless someone told him?
What the heck was pulled out of Claire's neck? It looked like a chicken foot! Yeah, I wonder why she stayed "dead" for so long when getting her neck twisted the day before did nothing to her.
2 things that bugged me: how did the cop know PornMom was in that car? How did he know to run the plates? it didn't look like she was speeding. And Ando caused the accident- if he hadn't run towards the truck waving his arms, it wouldn't have happened. That bothers me in some way, like Hiro is making things happen so he can be a hero. But Ando was very cute in his excitement to go to Vegas and maybe see PornMom.

My take was that they're new at this hero stuff, so they didn't realize that they'd cause the truck to swerve and imperil the red-bowed girl. I don't think Hiro's trying to be a hero. I think he's clumsily trying to do what he thinks his destiny (via the comicbook) is.

It looked like a sharp stick that was pulled out of her neck. As for why it took her so long to wake up - my only guess is that (I think) they said that her "power" is rapid healing or rapid cell regeneration and maybe her cells couldn't regenerate with the stick in the way. She seemed to come to once the stick was pulled out. Of course, the real reason was so they could have that last scene of Claire staring into her own chest cavity, but that's my fanwank.
And Hiro is so awesome. I loved how he was mulling over whether or not he needed a disguise/costume. I hope nothing happens to him or his friend - they offer some much needed levity on a show that can get rather dark.
