Sadly, the dreamiest Beatle left the band and died very young. Oh Stewart.

Me too, bagatelle. I had pretty good seats, as far as having a decent view of the stage is concerned, but as you say, we couldn't hear anything for all the screaming! It was constant. A few young people fainted as well.

I briefly met Astrid at a fan event a few years ago. She was very nice.
I happen to like all of their solo works. Some more than others. But it all depends on my mood.

The first thing I thought when I saw the links? That is NOT George, WTF?! Obvious that in my opinion George was the hottness.

I'm a huge fan, but my collection (in mp3's) is missing 2 of their songs!! TWO! If anyone has, or knows where I can find "Take Out Some Insurance on me Baby" and/or, the version that they did of "The Saints", I would me so happy! If anyone is looking for any of their songs, let me know.

John's solo stuff wasn't that hot, IMO, lyrically. Again, because he was lazy. A lot of it is hippy-dippy cliche. When Solo John was good, he was utterly fantastic. However, there's a very good reason that it's always the same handful of songs that make it onto Lennon's 'best of' compilations - he wasn't great that often. I always think that Solo Paul gets a bit of a bum deal - true, a lot of his stuff can be on the syrupy side, but you always get the feeling that he's (a) a total professional and (b) writes the stuff he likes to hear.

Man, I must say that if I'm in the right kind of mood, I get a little teary when I read Paul's speech for John's induction into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. Remember at Paul's induction quite a while later Stella McCartney wore a shirt that read, "About Fucking Time?" I feel for Paul. John's been lionized to such an incredible extent and Paul seems to be viewed by many as the lesser talent, the schmaltzy side of "Lennon-McCartney." In terms of adulation, he can't possibly (now, at least) compare to a near-worshipped, dead icon, can he? To refute the overly sentimental image a bit, few songs in the Beatles' catalogue rock as hard as "Helter Skelter." Oh, and my favorite album's got to be The White Album, but it was Rubber Soul when I was younger, so that still holds a very special place in my heart.

How cool that this thread gets topped when I have Rubber Soul playing on the CD player. I went to a Beatles convention this past weekend. It was great. I learn something new every year that I go. And there's solo songs that I like by all four.

"And eventually got our haircut, by a fellow named Jurgen, and that ended up being the "Beatle haircut."
Humph. There goes another myth. I'd always heard that one of their girlfriends impulsively gave them all haircuts that ended up being the famous "mop-tops."
I know someone who met Paul several years ago. He said Paul was friendly and forthcoming. You know the picture connected with Magical Mystery Tour where all four are standing together wearing white suits in this snappy pose -- the one where Paul (Paul is dead!) is wearing the black carnation. I think they're at the foot of a long staircase. Anyhow, Paul happilly agreed to have his picture taken with my friend in that exact pose! My friend was impressed that Paul could, after all those years, remember the exact pose, and Paul was impressed that my friend had it down pat. It's a great picture! They both look so happy! All that's missing are the white suits, the carnations, the long staircase... Well, still, it's a great picture!
