I'm not reading anything else until I see the last season safely aired here in the States (which I understand is coming in January. First Battlestar Galactica, now LoM ) I just saw the post above about the sequel. As much as I love the Gene Genie, I believe that the relationship between Sam & Gene was the real force behind this series.

David E. Kelley!!! Well, shit!
That's a damn shame, since I had heard rumors about a US version while watching the first episode over on YouTube, and started thinking about how cool it would be to set it in Pittsburgh, PA. You've got a big industrial city that was hitting hard times by the 1970s, a really distinctive regional accent, local sports teams that folks were nuts about (Manchester United = Pittsburgh Steelers, which was racking up lots of Super Bowl wins in the late '70s), and as an added bonus, lots and lots of hills for car chase sequences.
