I watched the first two years of OC, and the first few years of NY. After that, all the housewives became so so self aware. They began to act for the camera, bitch it up for the camera, have fake fights for the camera, and they started to hire skeevy questionable people to be housewives. Then people started to off themselves, get thrown in jail..., if just became not fun. I never watched NJ, Atlanta, or DC because they seemed to have come off the truck in full on bitch/fight/questionable activities mode.
I wanted to watch rich ladies bling it up, make tuna sandwiches in nice kitchens and go to parties. Not tip over tables, call another a bitch at the top of their lungs, go total psycho crazy on camera.
It's the same reason I don't watch the incredibly pricy home sales porn shows anymore. I want to see multi-million dollar homes in LA and NY, not the slimy back stories of the slimy realtors.

UGH, Lisa Rinna is a new BH housewife? I despise just about everything about that woman. Sure the beauty queen and the witch were a big fat bust, but this chick is an over-the-top big mouth (literally too). I'm sure it's going to be all about how hot she and Harry still are for each other. They'd better at least have some porny real estate. I thought I'd heard that Camille and Adrienne were coming back?
Meanwhile, Yolanda's 17 year old "wannabe model" daughter got a DUI at 4am - while driving on a suspended license. Maybe all the pressure of hot sister and hot mom (mom has been non-stop posting bathing suit photos of herself) is too much for her. It doesn't seem like Yolanda offers any other job ideas besides model to her kids. How very Kris Kardashian (at least Yolanda WAS a model).

Lisa Rinna, seriously?! I remember hearing a long time ago that she was angling for a RH spot, I guess she finally got her wish. I did hear Adrienne and Camille were coming back- maybe they still are. I hope that Camille at least will return.
That sucks about Gigi. I thought she seemed like a nice kid and pretty well-adjusted, but it looks like she isn't handling things too well. I bet Yolanda is beside herself about perfect Gigi getting a DUI.
ETA: oh nevermind, I just saw that it was Yolanda's other daughter who got the DUI, not Gigi. Well, still sad. She probably has a lot of issues from her sister being the clear favorite amongst the children.

Not that I disagree with you in theory, but Gigi is doing quite well in the modeling world- she's been a Guess model, and on the cover of CR Fashion Book among other things. I'm guessing her connections help, but she appears to be successful outside of it being a plot on the show. |

Yeah, Gigi seems to be pretty successful. I just saw a photo of her and Arnold Schwarzenegger's son the other day; they're both in the fall 2014 Tom Ford campaign.

apparently Eileen Davidson from Young & the Restless/Days of Our Lives is also joining the cast. She just returned to Y&R. I think it's a weird choice for both her and Lisa Rinna. |

That's funny, Lisa on was Days too in the early 90s, she was my favorite Billie Reed. They replaced her with Krista Allen (who dated Clooney like 10 years ago). It's also pretty meta since the RH franchise is pretty much "real life" soap opera, while the scripted soaps have all but disappeared. I remember they were running RHoOC reruns on NBC in the afternoons at one point. |

Kinda like Christie Brinkley's daughter - can't you have any other ambitions in life but that?
The only show from the franchise I watch is Beverly Hills, and it seems like TPTB are determined to F it up somehow. I bet Brandi is off somewhere drinking and reading gossip about the new women so she'll be loaded with insults and put downs to keep the camera constantly on her.

If Days of Our Lives or Young and the Restless were to be canceled, it'd be the end of an era. Eileen Davidson is married to one of Dick Van Patten's sons. (A "Housewife" who is actually still married; imagine that?) Finally they're getting someone with some recognizable Hollywood star power (at least in the world of soaps  ) instead of these wannabes. (Kim and Kyle Richards, that includes you.) |
