Damn. Aren't those the same charges that sent him to prison the first time?? Yikes. I feel bad for Phaedra, she tried so hard to present a happy marriage and never seemed quite as nasty* as the other women... I kinda wanted her to have her sunshine life.

I kinda wanted her to have her sunshine life. *Disclaimer: I don't watch any of these shows regularly. Phaedra is as nasty as they come, and is right up there with Nene's fake ass in my book. Her relationship with Apollo was always contradictory to her repeated claims of southern gentility and alleged classiness. She's just as trashy, if not worse than the other housewives. She and Apollo never looked in love or particularly interested in each other. I've always seen their relationship as a business arrangement. She got him out of jail and raised his profile, and he gave her (admittedly adorable) children. His attraction to Kenya was obvious, and instead of checking her husband, she became increasingly hateful towards Kenya. That's not to say that Kenya didn't cross boundaries and test Phaedra repeatedly, but all the insults to Kenya's fertility issues were beyond distasteful, and far below the belt. No one will ever convince me that Apollo didn't take the fall for her. Phaedra is as crooked as they come. I believe she was neck deep in Apollo's scams. |

Apollo isn't smart enough to hatch a scheme like this. I also believe Phaedra is involved, if not the mastermind. As an attorney, she would legitimate access to information regular civilians would not, like SSNs and credit histories, which makes it easier to steal identities. She is also the one who set up some of Apollo's LLCs, which turned out to be shell corporations. If Phaedra doesn't end up divorcing this trifling career criminal, that'll be all the proof I need of her involvement in this organised crime ring.
I wonder if Kenya accidentally twirled off a Malibu cliff in her excitement, yesterday?

She did help him set up a couple of his businesses. According to Angela Stanton Phaedra was a mastermind in Apollo's past and present "activities" and Phaedra is still set to be deposed in a case involving her. She supposedly skated from previous charges. Time will tell if she manages to get out of these as well. Not sure how much of what Angela said is true, but from day 1 something in the milk was not clean about Phaedra or as Nene called her the head doctor.

These housewives and their families...I don't know why they spout that they're "rich" and "successful" when they're all just a bunch of crooks and substance abusers. I guess that's what is considered good TV these days, eh?
I bet they could find average, everyday housewives that could be just as hilarious and have enough hijinks to fill up an hour of the audience's time.

Camille Grammer (Kelsey's ex) did have some money and even though she didn't necessarily click with some of the other castmates, we haven't heard of any criminal shadiness from her yet. (If anything, Kelsey was the one doing shady stuff by carrying on an affair behind Camille's back, and getting engaged to the mistress and impregnating her before even filing for divorce from Camille. It made me feel bad for Camille.) Another Beverly Hills housewife Adrienne Maloof came from a rich family so she wasn't faking the funk about being rich either. Yet, too many of the housewives are putting up a front. Yet, I bet they don't want to be on TV.  I heard most of the housewives on the short-lived DC series were more or less normal (except of course for White House party crasher Michaele Salahi). |

As you pointed out, I'm sure there are a small amount of them that are legit. It just seems that far too many of them are seriously shaaaady. Don't they run background checks on these peeps? Or maybe they do and love it even more to keep those ratings up.
But I think that's why the DC series didn't go anywhere, too. Oh, well! If these crazies what to expose themselves and end up in the poor house or the big house, to each his (or her!) own.

I don't think I'd want to watch average, everyday housewives. Most of the fun in these shows, for me at least, is the escapism aspect of seeing their homes, vacations, clothes, jewelry, parties, etc. If anything, I want them to get richer housewives!
So, is anyone watching the OC? This is my first season watching it. Omg, I HATE Tamra. She is such a two-faced, spineless phony. At first I thought I liked her, but no. I actually like Shannon, but she seems like she is a bit too sensitive for all this fighting.
