Apollo Nida "abandoned his family" before going to prison?

Phaedra Parks is telling friends Apollo has essentially abandoned his family for the last 2 months ... choosing drinking and strip clubs over his wife and 2 kids.

She says over the last week things got so bad and so tense she feared physical abuse ... although nothing happened. The 2 haven't even spoken in a week.

Apollo now begins his 8 year prison sentence for cashing stolen checks and laundering more than 2 million dollars.

I just saw on ONTD that TMZ is reporting that Apollo didn't report to prison after all and went off on Phaedra before going AWOL.

TMZ reported Wednesday AM ... Nida was on his way to report for his 8-year prison sentence for money laundering and check fraud.

But apparently he got cold feet ... because we're told he pulled up to the home of his wife, "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Phaedra Parks and went nuts because Phaedra refused to put money in his prison account while he was locked up. She also refused to bring their kids to prison to visit him and that caused him to lose it.

We're told Nida forced his way inside and started screaming at Phaedra, "What the f*** is the matter with you," adding, "I don't give a f*** about the police, call them, I dare you."

Fortunately for Bravo ... we're told RHOA cameras were rolling and got the whole thing.

All he had to do was be "nice" before going to prison to his family and could of avoid the drama. She would have given him money for his prison account and all would be well. Of course, she'd serve him with divorce papers while he was locked up...but you know, priorities.

I wouldn't have told him anything but happy thoughts before he was to head to the slammer. It would have kept me and my children safe and prevented a public display recorded for all the world to see.

Maybe she wanted that on tape so she'd have a better case down the road? Work those lawyer skillz, Phaedra! <sigh>

Not at all. Smells like a setup. They are part of a show that rents homes, clothing and jewelry for its "stahs" to wear, allows fake relationships to play out, sets up fake outings, features crooks, liars, thieves, adulterers, former porn stars and prostitutes (allegedly), drug addicts, convicted felons and slumlords parade across our screens under the guise of a glimpse into livin' the high life so what's a little pre-clink last minute home visit? Besides Phaedra being one of the master minds to his businesses rumors were swirling that they'd lived apart since last season filmed.

Meanwhile, on RHoMelbourne, Jackie the psychic and her husband, Ben, the drummer from Silverchair, who is also like the 7th housewife, but also like a talking golden retriever in goofy, good willed stupidity, have decided to launch a line of alcoholic beverages, althought they've left all the details up to the angels. We do see the couple "design" over a large drawing of a potential label, with the original artist's approval. PreTv describes the result in the recap as "gluing feathers to a painting, as captains of industry do" and by a poster as "looking like a teletubby crime scene". Which I thought was really funny. A quote from this week's episode,"things were getting out of hand, so I decided to have a party for our dogs."

So, I am enjoying this show/season, and spoilers indicate that next season will include a castmember with the first name "Petitfleur", something we haven't seen even in the celeb baby name thread.
