Thank goodness!
That show would've fumbled like Tony Romo.
There was no way to recapture the sheer bawdiness of the UK show, NFL pressure or no NFL pressure.

Lucy Lawless would have been horrible in the Tanya role. I'm sorry guys, I like her too, but NO. Yes Tanya was incredibly tough and kicked all kinds of ass, but she didn't literally kick people's asses, she did it with scheming and manipulation and cunning. Lucy could beat up every guy on the planet, but I can't envision her outsmarting them.
I'm echoing earlier sentimnts: Zoe Lucker, and Zoe Lucker alone, is Tanya. Was Tanya. Whatever.

I'm actually surprised that the NFL cared. And I'm surprised that ABC cared that the NFL cared since no NFL games air on ABC anymore. At least I don't think there are any on ABC anymore, although that whole "ESPN on ABC" thing might make it possible for there to be on the future. I'm still unclear on how that whole merger works with ESPN's pre-exisiting contracts.
I didn't expect this show to be anywhere near as good as the original, but I was still curious to see it nonetheless. As long as they didn't bother to recreate Ian and Donna. They were so boring and I was glad when they were written out.

I think FW(UK) was made even more brilliant with the crossover with Bad Girls, when Tanya went to jail. That was good times. Thats how I managed to coerce my Mum into watching FW too, because she'd only ever watched Bad Girls.
I wish there was just one more UK season of it, but Im quite happy for there to never ever be a US version.
