Yes. My life is a country western song come to life!
Not exactly, but there was a stretch there in the 90's where I kept falling for women and when I finally would screw up my courage to say something, would be told some variation of, "I'm flattered, but also gay." This happened three times. It was quite depressing. Then there was another woman I was very good friends with, hanging out almost daily, very much like Barney and Robin smoking cigars and playing laser tag, and I totally blew it by falling in love with her. Oh, and saying it out loud in her presence.

The show wasn't very funny last night was it? Ho hum to say the least, NPH aside.

And Marshall was looking ragged.
Boo.

I was amused in parts - Barney's "wait, 'reading a magazine' means masturbating, right?" line killed me - mostly because I thought it did until the "Burrito, Carnitas Burrito" line.
Also, "Gaza Strippers" ended up being timelier than the writers probably intended.
But I love this show a ton - to the point where I'll even watch the reruns, so...
They tripled the cast's salaries over break, which was nice. They're a great ensemble - though strangely enough I think Ted is the most annoying one and would be fine if he left.

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one. I thought the magazine he was holding was Playboy--which would make a lot more sense than "Them Weekly," now that I think about it.

I agree; Ted just seems like kind of a wussy... it's a pity that the premise of the show centres around him. Last night's episode was kind of "meh"... I don't like Robin and Ted hooking up (primarily because I think Robin KICKS ass, and Ted SUCKS ass), but I do like how Barney's still in love with Robin. Now THAT'S pairing I could get behind.
Also, I'm constantly annoyed by Lily's kindergarten class. She's like, a really crappy teacher. It's not really that funny, either.
I did like the smashing of the TVs. Why were there so many TVs in the dumpster?
Also, the "reading a magazine" storyline made me laugh... especially with Marshall standing at the foot of the bed.

I know, right. If you add up all the "mishaps" she's had in her class, she should really be fired.

Lily in general just bugs me. It's like AH is trying really, really hard to be adorable.
And I don't really care for Ted, either--but he earned major points with me for realizing that Barney has feelings for Robin and not being a dick about it.

"I'll give you summer teeth - some are here, some are there."
Robin deserves a hall-of-fame spot in the Canada in Pop Culture thread.

Last week's "The Stinsons" episode rocked, but I found this week kinda stale and am a bit bummed that Laura Prepon is guesting for a few weeks. She is such a dull actress.
Cobie Smulders was looking a little under the weather last night I thought? Maybe its a rough pregnancy. "Lily" is glowing though.
