I thought Laura Prepon was channeling Gwyneth a little bit. I think that's what a relationship with Gwhiney would be like.
Loved the "You tell it, no let me tell it" and the return of Scooter.

I think you might be right, HotLips! I imagine HRH stares at her friends' TV sets and says, "What is that?". I love that Karen was able to out-douche Ted. That's an impressive feat. I also loved it when Lily got all The Wire. The bitch lingered so she's gots to get got. The 'pants story' really wasn't as side-splitting as Barney thought it was, but I found myself giggling uncontrollably at Barney's enjoyment of the story.

Seriously, guys? Must the Gwyneth hate creep into every thread? A very "meh" episode. Laura Prepon looks OLD. I don't understand why her friends haven't had an intervention and told her how much prettier she is as a redhead. The pants story wasn't funny but the amusement surrounding it was. I love how this is a sitcom where the characters actually tell jokes to each other and laugh/enjoy them. They have a very real friendship vibe because of it. And bless Robin for being a bad joke-teller at times. Between this and last week's, I'm beginning to love the writers for going balls-out with Ted being a pretentious douche. Because he totally is. And he's more interesting when he's written that way. The moony in-love Ted is just so bland.

Normally I actively dislike Laura Prepon (and her terrible blonde hair; you're right huntergrayson, she should go back to red), but in this role, I found her pretty funny. Especially with the wine snobbery and the line about alerting the sommalier about the miscategorized wine. Ha. She and Ted were hilarious with their pretentious behaviour and I too, MUCH prefer Ted written as a pretentious douche than as whiney/mopey and lovestruck.
I think they're doing a better job of covering up the pregnancies, too - I liked placing the globe in front of Lily. Funny.
Didn't really enjoy the pants story that much (I did like the ACDC reference), but Barney's reaction was priceless. NPH can sell anything.

I guess I thought the pants story was supposed to be lame and therefore Barney's over reaction making it all the more funny--cause it wasn't funny. Maybe I missed the point and re-reading what I just wrote doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense does it?

No, I agree. Though as I learned from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Jason Segel without pants is never entirely lame.
*slap* Barney: Your hand is enormous! Marshall: what did you expect? You've seen my penis.

I've been trying to figure this out: Is there ANYWAY that Ted and Robin can end up together? And to still be telling these kids the story?I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed

I still suspect that the mother and who Ted ends up with are two different people.

I still suspect that the mother and who Ted ends up with are two different people. Perhaps... I kind of thought he and Robin would end up together, but now I'm against it. I just don't like Ted unless he's being hilariously pretentious. I watch this show primarily for the Robin and Barney characters - for me, they make the show more than just an average sitcom. I think the writing for Robin's character has been routinely fantastic, and Neil Patrick Harris nails almost every one-liner they give him.
