I love this show, I'm so glad it gets love here. I watch it every day, I don't care how many times I've seen the episode.
The New Orleans episode is my absolute favorite. One thing that I enjoy about King of the Hill is that it has been consistently great and the characters haven't devolved into outrageous one notes, you know? When Nancy went back to Dale I thought it was really great.
I actually like Lucky and Luanne together though.

The church episode cracked us all up. My dad called me later and said he never knew the Hills were Methodists--we're famous for always sitting in the same place every Sunday.
Mike Judge lives here in Austin and I've heard numerous stories about someone near him in a restaurant or a store hearing him speak to whomever he's with and suddenly recognizing his voice from just some little something he's said. My favorite was the person who was behind him at some restaurant with a big flaming grill out back. It flared up while they were in line and suddenly Judge muttered "FIRE! FIRE!" under his breath in his Beavis voice. Cracked his own kids up, but several people around him also got a giggle out of it as well. He ended up having to sign a few autographs...

I really like that the show lets the characters kind of have old-fasioned values, but gives them an update without being preachy. For example, having a woman preacher, Hank being a little frustrated with but ultimately kind of accepting and loving Bobby even though he's a little fey, dealing with neighbors from another culture -- that sort of thing. I don't know how to phrase what I'm trying to say, but the show lets these values evolve so that they have a place in modern society without condemning the characters for having those values.

Hubby just loves it when Hank tells somebody in just about every episode that "I'm gonna have to kick your ass!" or some variation thereof. He also says that his sister in law is totally Peggy Hill.
"The boy ain't right!"

My favorite thing about the show that I forgot to mention is drunk Hank and Peggy. The episode where Peggy jumps out of the plane and they get plastered on tequila is hilarious with Hank crawling into the garbage can and falling onto the floor passed out.

And when Hank is the DD for Luanne's birthday and inadvertantly gets drunk at the bar? "New rule, you can't listen to my song anymore." Love it.

Man, I love this show. It's hilarious and has its sweet moments, but the one liners are always great. I always appreciate Cotton, simply because he's such a stupid asshole and everyone just has to put up with him. And really, what kind of a shitty father names their second son Good Hank?
That boy just ain't right.

I have one small quibble continuity-wise with this show. Hank is clearly drawn to resemble his mother, and looks nothing at all like his father Cotton. However, Cotton's son with that Japanese woman was drawn to look like Hank's near-twin. How could that happen? I like that episode (the Hills staying in their hotel room's foyer while their complementary fruit basket rots behind the partition screen? Hilarious), but that continuity error bugs me.

I think one of my favorite moments in KOTH is the pilot episode, where they introduce John Redcorn as Nancy's "healer" and then immediately introduce Joseph who is so obviously the product of Nancy & Redcorn's affair, yet Dale is so oblivious to this fact.
ETA: i can't believe its been over 10 years since KOTH first aired.

Ten years, eh? Wow.
AuroraStar, I know EXACTLY what you mean, about the traditional values mixed with and accepting of modern ideas. I always think the same thing about the show.
I remember when Brad Pitt played (brain cramp) whats-his-name's brother (the guy who mumbles). Pitt had the identical mumbling down to a tee, and hearing the two of them mumble-converse was great. Interestingly, Jennifer Anniston also guest starred when Hank and Peggy got a motorcycle and JA played a biker chick they met along the way.
The motorcycle ep was one when Hank showed his old-fashioned side: he refused to let Peggy drive while he rode shotgun. Thought it wasn't manly, y'all.
